rostalof
I'm looking into buying a double self inflating mat and I'm wondering if any of you seasoned Glasto veterans could recommend any particular brand. I think I should go for a 5cm thickness but after that I haven't got a clue? Any ideas?

dieweener
Thermarest are high quality self inflating mat brand, big ones are about 70 quid. Depends on how often you think you'll use it. I've got a single one which cost around 40 cus i didn't like the roll mat i used in 2007. I like it and think it's good value but i'm sure there's a cheaper one out there that's just as good. DON'T get a Blacks one though, truly rubbish.

Storm_NL
I bought a self-inflating mat last year.. spent about 40 euros on it. I didn't quite trust the thing... ....but was surprised at how comfy it turned out! Easily as comfortable as my inflatable mattress, and far less hassle and weight. ramragon
ive got a decent self inflating matress, my mate took one of these £3.99 kids inflating beds that you use in a swimming pool. took seconds to blow up, was easy to pack cos it was small and he wasnt bothered if it got damaged (which it didnt). once inflated it was about 10cm deep an once the sleeping bag was on top was much comfier than my £35 self inflating effort ! if your not interested in style and want a cheap effort then thats the way to go

kohoutec
http://www.alpkit.com/airic/ - these are good, they only have the regular in stock though. (The regular is fine, I've used mine for the last couple of festival seasons.)
Curtains1
Thanks for the input everyone. I have the same difficulty with postage Andy, hard to get something of that weight shipped to Ireland cheaply. Harder again to get anyone to ship a flat portable gas stove, regardless of price. I don't even expect them to ship it with gas. Have been looking at this http://www.campingworld.co.uk/Models.aspx?ModelID=484 and this http://www.campingworld.co.uk/Models.aspx?ModelID=2492 for a combined price of 90 yo yos (approx £90) Worth it?
