I think Neil means "I can't believe people are worrying about a clash that's completely speculative".

I could be wrong of course.

you are, very wrong.

To my mind, I can't see any reason why anyone would have a dither over seeing Prodigy - they play all the time qand can be seen in a million different places of your choice. Why waste a few Glasto hours on them when there's so much more on offer?

As for Blur, well ..... seen 'em. Really wish I hadn't bothered.

But hey, if you people want to spend your glasto listening to your record collection being played back badly, who am I to suggest that there's the opportunity to open your mind and your ears to a thousand new things? <_<

Hes a MASSIVE Britains Got Talent fan. And hes delighted Jordan and yer man have split up, gives him a crack at her. Although I'd say you wouldnt even be hitting walls with her, you could just stroll in there with a hat on Fred Astaire style, swinging your umbrella about.

Seriously though, aside from Talking Heads, what other Bands/Artists do you Love?

ones that are good.

In the main, that dismisses an awful lot of the here today/gone tomorrow indie-pop durge; you might like em today, but you'll soon see the error of your ways, and that's why so very few of such acts last beyond a year or two.

What other things to do you have in mind? The stone circle, dance village, green fields, theatre, comedy, cinema, cafes etc run all the way through the festival, there is plenty of time to visit all those things and still manage to watch the Prodigy. You could watch someone at one of the smaller stages, but will that really be as exciting as watching someone like The Prodigy?

the other things I have in mind are perhaps bands that can play their instruments competently, perhaps bands that actually do something live when they're 'live', as well as the very many 'rare' acts that don't come around every town each and every month until they disappear into obscurity.

People are welcome to see whatever they like, but for me, if I wanted to see any of those sorts of circuit bands, I'd generally save them for another time when there's far fewer other interesting options.

PS: saw the Prod for the first time back in (I'm guessing) '92 (Tribal Gathering somewhere Oxford way I think) .... back then my mate was going on about how 'mad' and fantastic they were. They were as fantastic as listening to a CD, and as mad as wacky hat. Booooooooring, even way back then.

I've got to say, for me, thses days, the Prodigy are just about as boring as a band can get, volume is no substitute for excitement. Keith Flint? he;s mad, he's er.. not very mad at all, really. Looko! they've gtot a ball, with someone in. oooh, those wacky funsters. To me, it's the very epitome of taking rebellion and selling it back to people. Dreadful stuff, a poor circus show, Archaos without the talent and skill.

Neil Young, Crosby Stills & Nash and The Specials I bet

I must confess that these are on my maybe list - but more for the rarity factor than any huge burning desire to see them; I'll have less chance top see these acts again than so many others that will be on the bill. The fact that Specials will preceed NY perhaps makes it more likely that I'll get to see these.

But as comparison, I have the same desire to see Springsteen, yet I hate with a vengeance his latest offering ('Working On Boring You All To Death And Succeeding' I think it's called ) and have never been taken with him. Again, it's a chance to check out an act I'm far less likely to see another time.

Years ago, I even went and saw Rod Stewart (tho two songs was more than I could stand, and went and saw the superb St Germain instead).

What I get to see will be decided by what's on when and where I am at the time. But for those who like more than three badly played chords, Jazzworld is where it's normally at. :)

I have seen a few posts on threads here from people suggesting they have heard rumours that this will happen. Still very much "friend of a friend" rumours than anything concrete but heres hoping. Although I will struggle on a Blur v Prodigy clash - that would be a nightmare scenario.
