jazz world open on thursday?

i have just checked the line up pages and it says tinariwen or on the jazz world on thursday.

is this to do with the fact its now officially a 5 day festival

im sure theres stuff in the john peel tent as well.

Do you think its likely that bands may play on thurs then somewhere else during the fri sat or sun?

any thoughts?

Last time I went in 05 there was one act on the Jazz World on Thursday night - a local band I guess, did about 3 songs, I suppose to test the PA out. No idea who they were, but they weren't too bad.

First time I ever rolled in the hallowed turf in 1999, there was an act on Thursday afternoon on Jazz World. As previously posted, it was probably just a soundcheck exercise, but they played a few tracks.

blimey, so it does - as they've played at Glasto before and Jazzworld (and the Park) before, I'd guess they know the difference between stages. I'd spotted it on their myspace, where it didn't say which stage.

I guess it's possible that it might be with Tunng on the Pyramid, as that would seem to be a better fit to me. But last I heard there wasn't actually anything sorted for them to play with Tunng (who are also playing somewhere), although I believe that the fest was trying to get that sorted.
