Back to the original post (Sunday's NME being better than the Lockup), i gotta say that i reckon the Lockup is pretty solid this year. The only things missing are the really BIG bands like Nofx and Rancid - any chance they could still be added to the main stage??

I was also there in Manchester last week but where was everybody else. Half-full academy 1, guess Gallows aren't quite as popular as Kerrang!, NME seem to believe. Good set though, the new stuff works well, I especially liked Crucif**ks with them all bashing away on the snare drums at the end!

They are currently not and never have been popular which is why all this NME and Kerrang big them up to make them a massive band is bollocks really as it still hasn't happened, I've seen them at the Roadhouse with 50 other people, they have slowly progressed like any other band but not one gig I have been to Leeds cockpit, Leeds festival last year, Manchester Academy 2 and last weeks Manchester Academy have been full or anywhere near sold out, the people who watch them like the because of them music and nothing to do with the NME or Kerrang. Most music is hype these days and every band would take all the expossure they can get.

I'm slightly disappointed in the lock up myself but I guess it all comes down to taste, I'm looking forward to Bouncing Souls, Snuff, Wilhelm Scream, Streelight Manifesto, Mad Caddies but not really much else and think there is to much lighweight type bands on the bill, I won't name names as like I say it all comes down to personal taste.

Bands like Rancid, NOFX, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Bowling for Soup would have given me more excitement than Billy Talent and Rise Against.
