gormless69
the band you need to check out if you dont know them already are municiple waste if you want a fun band. they a a decent metal band that encourages people to be doing beer bongs for the entire time you are running around the pit. check out the album 'the art of partying' and the lyrics to the song 'born to party' will be chanted for a while before and after the band come on. a band not yet mentioned in this thread are the aggrolites who class themselves as dirty reggae. their self titled album is worth checking out and the song 'heavier than lead' is a song i hope they play. if you want some ska/punk try out streetlight manifesto. off of 'everything goes numb' the song 'point/counterpoint' will get everyone moving. i found the band 'the plight' to be quite gallows-esq. so if we know of anyone that doesnt like the gallows on these boards, they would probably do best to not see them. bouncing souls, rise against and mad caddies have all been mentioned but il give a variation of songs to listen out for. bouncing souls: 'manthem', 'bullying the jukebox', 'born to lose' and 'true believers'. all from different albums rise against have different types of sounds that are all distinctly them. softer ones are 'swing life away', 'roadside' and 'hero of war'. more well known ones are 'life less frightning', 'paper wings' or 'audience of one'. and three faster tracks are 'prayer of the refugee', 'voices off camera' and black masks and gasoline' mad caddies have a few different styles and im still fairly new to them. 'no hope' 'contraband' and '10 west' are my favourites. oh and the pirate anthem 'weird beard' can anyone guess which stage i go to at reading?? although gaslight anthem and afi do deserve a watch. brighteyes
Rise Against - In contrast to some others I think that Revolutions Per Minute is their best album. But I guess it is normally the first album you buy that you rate most highly. x
Explosions_In_The_Sky
I really can't echo the calls to check out Rival Schools enough. Astonishing band and if you watched MTV2 back around 2002 when 'Used for Glue' was rotated heavily you may recognise them. It's ridiculous how many great bands one man (Walter Schreifels, also of Quicksand and Gorilla biscuits) can be in. Along with ATDI and Glassjaw they make up a holy trinity of turn of the millennium post hardcore. bartycrouch
used for glue is a great choon. probably their most famous? robx
kmb182uk
I would say that is their most famous, easily. The whole album is (at the risk of sounding like a shellsuit wearing scouser haha) banging! I find it is one of those albums that I can out on and listen to every single tune without ever considering a skip function.
Budweiser
Ooh, dont know about Around the Fur... It's obviously good, but I wouldn't rank it best personally For me: White Pony > Deftones > Around the Fur > Saturday Night Wrist > Adrenaline All of them have some absolute tunes on though! bartycrouch
Every song on the album is brilliant. I must have lsitened to it right through hundreds of times since I got it all those years ago, I'm surprised it still works. Their unreleased album is good too, but not as good as United by Fate. Also, I have never heard a scouser use the word 'banging', that's more of a manc thing if anything.
kmb182uk
I haven't heard the un-released one, will have to kepp my beady eyes open for it. Ah darn it, my apologies!
