I've been having a bit of a badge moment and am looking at getting some badges similar size/style to the last year's Monorail badges made. For those who don't know, they're metal badges 2.25" in diameter and they look kinda like this but so much better:

As for cost, it kinda depends on quantity and so on but I'm thinking something like at least £1 and preferably £2 (or more !) to WaterAid per badge. Please bear in mind that ignoring the quite considerable time spent on doing the artworks/prints etc., it's going to cost me at around 50p per badge to have them made although I'm happy to do this PROVIDING that WaterAid end up with somewhat more than it actually costs me in cold hard ca$h !!!

Please also remember that saying "yes please" and either not collecting and donating for it or not donating a realistic and appropriate amount effectively means Mr.WaterAid is losing out bigtime so many more peeps around the world will continue to suffer or die due to a lack of readily available clean/safe drinking water and basic sanitation Just a few pounds per head is sufficient to provide safe water, sanitation and hygiene education to those who need it most. Maybe I could suggest that spending less than half of the cost of a pint of your favourite beverage at Glasto on a nice shiny badge (with the added benefit of not having to recycle said half pint just a few minutes later !) in order to raise a few quid for Mr.WaterAid is a *very* small amount of do$h *very* well spent ? If you think Glasto toilets are 'bad' or the Glasto water tastes cr@p then just remember that they're both around a million times better than having nothing at all of course !

Oh yeah, just one other thing that I really should tell you, me old mate Mr.Shaman reliably informs me that saying "yes please" and then not doing the 'right' thing will defo result in a severe and most violent case of the trots lasting the entire Glasto weekend and beyond plus your man-bits shriveling and falling off or your lady-bits sagging to knee level, which ever is most appropriate But seriously, I know the words "sensible" and "responsible" are rarely (if ever) seen on the same page as anything Glasto-related let alone in the same paragraph or sentence but maybe we can make an exception in this case ? You know it makes sense and all that

Please vote to indicate your interest so I can get an appropriate number made and also post something on the thread as well so we all know who is helping Mr.WaterAid do his good stuff and more importantly, so I know exactly how many badges you actually want ! I'll be posting an updated list of names/quantities on a regular(ish) basis so everyone can make sure that I've got it right. If your name isn't on the list at the time the badges are ordered then there is every possibility that there wont be enough to go round and you'll miss out so to ensure that yours are reserved for you, make sure that your name is on the list like now ! Thanks mike the badges are Ace, you could maybe set up a just giving page and the people that donate can get a badge or you could just collect a the game

i really do love them, and they are way cooler than than the offical players badges (or caps if you like), but its just to say that the players will be getting an additional badge aswell(free), but i dont know how to say it with out sounding snooty, and im really not i love them and would encourage everyone including players to get one of mikes badges aswell.

we have all done brilliantly to help wateraid, and i know they are extrmely appreciative of all our efforts

Please bear in mind that the piccy at the start of this thread is a scaled down JPEG file and NOT the actual artwork being used so it shows loads of weirdo effects due to the data compression. The 'real' thing will (or at least should !) be loads better and much clearer than the preview piccy indicates. However, for various technical reasons, I do have to warn that it may not end up quite as good as the Monorail Badge was and I'm not going to be able to find out until they've actually been made. But then again, the Monorail badge wasn't anywhere near as good as I was expecting it to be either and I haven't heard any complaints ... yet !!

Timescale is probably going to be Last Orders around the end of the month or thereabouts. After that it will be a case of there may be some spare ones available or there may not be. Assuming that most peeps are going to Glasto this year, I was thinking collect from the WaterAid Stand and add your appropriate donation to one of their jolly nice buckets. Don't forget to have a looky at their displays of current projects and campaigns etc. while you're there to see where your do$h is going and get an idea of how much it's going to help. For anyone NOT attending this year, I have something in mind for posting badges out but more about that later. Collection on site is by far the preferred thing wherever possible though as it will hopefully mean WaterAid getting the extra 50/60p it would cost for postage rather than Royal Mail getting their hands on it instead !

I expect there will be the same thing here as with the Monorail Badges where some peeps want more than 1 so my nice and simple one vote one badge poll which kinda seemed like a very good idea at the time is going to be mostly useless again No worries, if you do want more than 1 just add a post to say how many as well as voting and at least I can trawl through the thread to get a good idea on the number of extras needed.

OK, due to my stupidity in not considering that some peeps might actually want more than 1 badge when setting up the poll I've now sorted out a list of names .vs. quantity required in order to keep track of how many are going to be needed.

Here's the list so far but there are obviously around 5 names missing because some peeps just voted and didn't post anything on the thread. Can you please check that I've got your requirements right and post a correction if I've c*cked up or if your name is missing. I'll keep an eye on the thread and repost an updated list every now and again to hopefully ensure that no one misses out.
