I've been having a bit of a badge moment and am looking at getting some badges similar size/style to the last year's Monorail badges made. For those who don't know, they're metal badges 2.25" in diameter and they look kinda like this but so much better:

As for cost, it kinda depends on quantity and so on but I'm thinking something like at least £1 and preferably £2 (or more !) to WaterAid per badge. Please bear in mind that ignoring the quite considerable time spent on doing the artworks/prints etc., it's going to cost me at around 50p per badge to have them made although I'm happy to do this PROVIDING that WaterAid end up with somewhat more than it actually costs me in cold hard ca$h !!!

Please also remember that saying "yes please" and either not collecting and donating for it or not donating a realistic and appropriate amount effectively means Mr.WaterAid is losing out bigtime so many more peeps around the world will continue to suffer or die due to a lack of readily available clean/safe drinking water and basic sanitation Just a few pounds per head is sufficient to provide safe water, sanitation and hygiene education to those who need it most. Maybe I could suggest that spending less than half of the cost of a pint of your favourite beverage at Glasto on a nice shiny badge (with the added benefit of not having to recycle said half pint just a few minutes later !) in order to raise a few quid for Mr.WaterAid is a *very* small amount of do$h *very* well spent ? If you think Glasto toilets are 'bad' or the Glasto water tastes cr@p then just remember that they're both around a million times better than having nothing at all of course !

Oh yeah, just one other thing that I really should tell you, me old mate Mr.Shaman reliably informs me that saying "yes please" and then not doing the 'right' thing will defo result in a severe and most violent case of the trots lasting the entire Glasto weekend and beyond plus your man-bits shriveling and falling off or your lady-bits sagging to knee level, which ever is most appropriate But seriously, I know the words "sensible" and "responsible" are rarely (if ever) seen on the same page as anything Glasto-related let alone in the same paragraph or sentence but maybe we can make an exception in this case ? You know it makes sense and all that

Please vote to indicate your interest so I can get an appropriate number made and also post something on the thread as well so we all know who is helping Mr.WaterAid do his good stuff and more importantly, so I know exactly how many badges you actually want ! I'll be posting an updated list of names/quantities on a regular(ish) basis so everyone can make sure that I've got it right. If your name isn't on the list at the time the badges are ordered then there is every possibility that there wont be enough to go round and you'll miss out so to ensure that yours are reserved for you, make sure that your name is on the list like now ! Out of interest, will you be having spares on the day? Cus I know as soon as I go and get mine, my mates who don't come on here will want one too so just thinking out loud.

There will inevitably be a few 'spares' available on the day due to fixed order quantities and price breaks etc. but certainly not very many. By far the majority will be all packed up and have peeps names on them well before they get on site. There's absolutely no point in ending up with a bagful to take back home with me and all that so I need to be fairly sure that however many do get made, they will all find a good home. There may possibly be an even smaller number of a couple of different badges as well.

Sure hope you Rest of the World guys are out training hard whilst all the Eng-er-Land guys are no doubt still sitting around inside with bad hangovers from dodgy beverages and thinking about the good stuffing that they're going to get in a l'il over 3 weeks time

mikeb, there is going to be WaterAid volunteers at the game. Can you ask people to pay their donations for the badges to them as that way we will be able to keep account of how much the event has raised.

The deadline for ordering badges was the end of May and badges have now been ordered. There are currently only a small number of GWC badges not allocated so best get in quick if you want one ! The remaining badges will be allocated on a first come first served basis either in advance by posting in this thread to reserve them or by grabbing one at the World Cup match if there are any still left by then.

The Monorail Badges are now all spoken for - if you didn't get one last time or you're not already on this year's list then I'm sorry to have to say that you're not very likely to be getting one this time round either I'm afraid It may be possible to get more made in time but no promises, it depends solely on how many badge requests there are in total over the next few days and whether it is sufficient to place a sensible sized order.

Yup, if everything goes exactly according to plan then they should be on-site all ready and awaiting your collection reasonably before the K/O and until the match has finished. After that, they will hopefully then be available for collection from the WaterAid stand immediately to the left of the Pyramid Stage as you stand facing it - most likely from Friday AM onwards I would expect. Anyone who has requested badges but will sadly NOT be attending Glasto this year needs to PM me ASAP so we can sort something out.

The badges themselves won't have your name on as such - they're not exactly footy shirt sized so there aint enough room unfortunately However, the package that your badges are in most certainly will have your name on it to hopefully ensure that everyone gets exactly what they've requested All you need to do is remember your eFests name and have your appropriate donation handy to feed one of the jolly nice WaterAid buckets ... and remember to wander along to the WaterAid stand or the hallowed turf of Le Stade de Glasto to collect them at some convenient point in time whilst enjoying your Glasto of course ! Should there be any packages left all unloved and unwanted on Sunday PM(ish) - and I very much hope that there wont be of course - then they will be grabbed back and disposed of in one way or another.
