Thursday pm arrival - where to camp

OK, so my mate has booked train tickets for the Thursday not arriving at Castle Cary until half four. I would have preferred to go earlier but can't be done. So, any advice on where to camp at that time would be greatly appreciated! Don't mind being a reasonable distance from stages etc., but would like somewhere higher up with a view if poss.

Dairy Ground. Not too far from everything and you can even hear the Other Stage from there.

The nearest camping to the coach drop off (gate A) is Wicket Ground/Hitchen Hill. You will probably still be able to get in there on Thursday afternoon. For the first time this year these fields will not have the cinema next to them, which might make them more or less popular!!

Otherwise as said above Dairy Ground is your best bet, it never fills up. Will probably take you 20 mins or so to trek there from Gate A with all your stuff.

Paines ground was sparse last year it was great . Enough room to lie down and catch some rays!

Walk through the car parks to get to gate D.

The campsite crews always know where there's space too so it's always worth checking with them.

Dairy Ground will have stunning views but its a very long walk back to the train/coach pick up point...but hey your are at Glasto...everywhere is a long walk...just enjoy it. The views will be worth it...and The Park is nearby for muchos late night shenanigans.

As with most things at Glastonbury it depends upon what you want. Peace and quiet or activity, if you could tell us which stages you visit the most we might be able to give you a better idea

The part which i camped in in Paines ground last year (which i was hoping to camp again this year) has been turned into family camping - annoying!

Nooooo! We've camped there for the last 2 years! It's been great - from the direction we come in you just get through the gate and drop!
