Glade v Park

It's a shame I only just got involved with the Hurt/Heal game or my votes would have put Glade way ahead by now!

Seriously, someone tell me what's so great about the Park? There's one or two nice drinking holes there and a nice communal fire. Apart from that it's pretty bland to be honest!

I'd much rather be under the trees, immersed in the lights and throbbing sound of the Glade any day of the week.

:P

Special enough that they've managed to spawn a very very succeful independant festival of their own in fact.

I can't say I've ever had a "Glasto moment" at the Park.

Chill! If you like trance etc, you've got the Glade.

People who like a bit more eclecticism, have the Park. Variety is good.

This should sum up the Glade for you. The Glade stage is in small clearing hidden away amongst the trees in the corner of the Other Stage field. It's been going many years and hosts performances from the worlds top underground DJs across all styles to live acts such as Squarepusher and Aphex Twin. At night it'll be basslines, strobes and trippy woodland experiences till early hours of the morning.

it now has it's own festival. Check here to get a feel for it: http://www.gladefestival.com/2009/

As for the Park.... it has a helter skelter and radio 1.

I actually much preferred the glade when there was no roof, and you were under the trees,(first 2 years?) with the sun set creeping through the canopy. I find that white construction ugly, I can't understand why they changed it. The glade was different then, now it's not much different to a tent in the dance village..It's still an amazing place though don't get me wrong..i just loved the natural open feel it had before. I saw a live set from hybrid there once, (first glade year maybe?) playing their version of 'papua new guinea' floating through the air as the sun set through the leaves high above..

Since when was the glade and the park at battle? Its like saying whats better, the comedy or the circus tent.

Its so different it makes the argument pointless.

But if we are debating....

The Park, excellent little stage and its really close to my tent :P
