16 of us in our group of which 7 have never been before!

What should our itinerary be for the Wednesday?

I've suggested the going up to the stone circle and not looking back thing - should I have to hold off till the evening for that?

I've banged on about how great the festival is to one of them so much - I just hope it lives up to expectiations - but of course some of that will be down to me showing them the right parts on the Wednesday afternoon!

Take them for a wander around the site so they can kind of get used to it. Take them to the Brothers bar then to Stone Circle. I'd leave that 'til night though. That first view with it all lit up is the best. Take them in the daytime thursday.

Thanks both,

We are planning to be on site by 12 ish Weds, I'm just trying to think of things to keep them occupied before the night-time Stone Circle visit......With not much to do apart from getting drunk....First time we've had so many newbies with us usually its just 1 or 2 so they just follow what the regulars do but this will be like keeping a class of 5 year olds on Haribos entertained!

If one of you is taking some sort of day-bag, fill it up with a few cans, go for a wander and talk to a few people along the way. It'll help them get some sort of idea where the stages are. Sit and have a cider at the cider bus. Have a BBQ at your campsite, get to know your neighbours. I'm sure there'll be plenty to keep you laughing through the day.

My brother has never been, we'll be arriving for the gates opening. Once we've got our tents set up we'll have something to eat, a couple of beers to relax after the journey, then I'm going to take him on a slow stroll around. Brothers bar late afternoon/early evening, then up to the stone circle later.

Hmmm so a good idea would be for a walk around after some campsite food/beers, whilst trying to stop them heading up to the stone circle! - Maybe get them over to the Jazz field and get them a bit drunk before heading up there for some mdma influenced WOWness!

We've got 6 newbies and I thought that was a lot!!

We're camping in the Park/Dairy area so during hot sunny Wed afternoon we'll start at T'Other stage, wander thru' the dance fields, past Peel, Pyramid, Circus & Williams Green and finally stop at Jazz World for a refreshing Brothers pint or twelve. Back to base for rest. Later in the day the other half starting with a pint at the Bimble Inn up in the Park. Then one in the Bedouin Tent. Get to Stone Circle for sunset into the night then see if anything is happening at Shangri-La! Thursday consists of sleeping it off!

Actually this is all my own preference and we'll really play much of it by ear

As usual I am taking my quota of virgins this year... 4 to be precise. I usually do this:

Pitch up, wander round 'bowl' of site, pass Brothers Bar, stop, enforce consumption of cider, and then laugh when their legs stop working. The rest deals with itself.

Yeh, well they all want to camp with us as we know what we are doing!! (apprently!!!)

As I've been 4 times before I don't usually bother with an exploration of the site till much later on usually as the majority of its the same - but i want to make sure they see everything before all the music starts on the friday!

This is all helpful guys

Our group is 7 strong this year with 5 first timers.

The 2 of us that went last year were 1st timers then so theres so much we didnt do ourselves!

Will definately be exploring a lot on the weds/thurs along with the obligatory visit to the stone circle at night, cant wait to see our newbies faces when they look out across the site from up there

Pitch tent, grab some Brothers, mooch up to Stone Circle have a look, go right up to lounging area sat in amongst the flags, take a seat, have a smoke, chill for a bit then go explore! The sound of the flags rippling in the wind and not a lot else was such a good feeling, need to try and bottle that this year or at least catch it on video!
