Ooooh! Unlucky!

I get paid on the last Wednesday of the month and ......30 days have September, April, June & November. The 30th falling on a Tuesday is a very lucky break for me!

I don't know how to save money all month for Glastonbury because I've never really managed it properly - I've always done it on some kind of tick or other when it's landed that way for me.

It's really hard to keep money back when you are being tempted to buy all sorts of stuff like pac-a macs and airbeds!

One thing you can do is get your alcohol in early!

Im in the same boat - last day of the month (rubbish). Already stuggling this month so suspect I will be into my overdraft before I get wages for may - which means less for june.

my plan is to make minimum payments on credit cards, not buy anything that is not needed, try and run down the food in the freezer and cupboards (which means food shopping bill should be less) and not go out anywhere till glasto. Its gonna be hard - but will be worth it.

Failing all that, I will crack open the £2 savings pot which we are trying to save for holiday somewhere, and/or start counting the penny jar (which I need to do soon as banks only accept 5 bags at a time, so could take a while to bank if there are as many pennies as I think there are) alternitively, bring the pennies with me - but not liking the thought of all that weight

We will all do it somehow. Even if it means locking ourselves indoors for the month!!

Good Luck everyone!

When I have resorted to the bank of mum....I've said can I borrow x amount till next week when payday is and set up a bank transfer in advance so she knows its definatly coming into her account on my pay day.

Unfortunatly for me this year I'm just about to finish a 6-month training course in July, so with no income its gonna be bare essentials for me this year.

Out goes the coke and in comes mdma.....200 marlboro lights gets replaced by a 50g pouch of Golden Virginia and it will be back to the camping stove and Pot Noodles for dinner! Beers from the stalls will have to be at a miniumum and i'll be looking out for lager/cider deals at Tescos - if i can get 48 cans for £20/£25 that will be good also.

I'm the same, and I've got to tax the bloody car at the end of this month  Got £100 put back at the moment for 6 months tax but no sure I'm going to get through the next 9 days without dipping into it. However it should come as no surprise (to me) as I'm officially crap with money!

My method, which has so far worked pretty well, is to put ALL my change into a piggy bank for Glastonbury. Apart from all that money going in, I am much less likely to break into notes, and I always fritter my change away anyway... so even though you don't have long, you might end up saving a fair bit. Also never pay for anything by card, because it doesn't feel like real money, and you can pretend that there's more in your account than there is. Only take small amounts out at a time and then you have to keep on seeing your balance, and you actually see how much you're spending.

This will be my tactic, I get money at the start of every month, but have to buy my Beautiful Days ticket, so won't be having anything left by glastonbury unless I am very stingey.

Go shopping at the supermarket on Sunday of the bank holiday weekend. I did on the last one and loads of things were reduced!

Have your mates round rather than going out.

Walk instead of getting public transport if you can. Good practice for Worthy Farm!

Carry a bottle of water with you when you go to work etc to save buying one.

Well slightly different but last year I got paid on the Thursday of the festival. I borrowed £200 from my Mum and Dad on the Tuesday and left them my bank card so they could take the cash out when I got paid. Could you borrow the cash from your parents. Otherwise if you have everything you need already for Glastonbury and it is just the spending you need, take out your cash on this pay day and put it aside for Glastonbury usage!

I have got to save up my Ibiza holiday money and Glasto money this month, so for me i am budgeting myself to 40 quid a week for living on, leaving me with around a grand for spending money!

Just going to have to stop going out weekends for a month.

Oh and i might pimp myself!

My essential tips:

- Buy everything you will need for the festival as soon as you get paid. This way you wont end up spending all your money then having none for essentials.

- Take food. Not saying dont buy any food at the festival, just make sure you take at least some!

- Put aside £50 for you to not touch until the festival. It might not seem much but if you end up in a really shit money situation it could be a lifesaver.

- Buy a stove. Then say you'll cook for all your mates as long as they bring the food.

- Buy most of your alcohol beforehand and minimise unecessary purchases before the festival (avoid going out, it will be worth it in the long run!).

I unfortunately wrote my car off a month ago. However, i bought back my car from insurance, got mechanic to do enough to get through MOT and look fairly OK (there wasn't anything acutally too wrong with car - just deemed to old / expensive to repair by the insurance company :) ) and so now have the remainder of my settlement sitting in my bank...so my unfortunate event turned in to a fortunate event where Glastonbury is concerned :)

- Overdraft with the bank?

- Ask work for a payday advance? When I ran a company I would do payday advances every so often if needed. You'd be surprised how many companies will.

- You've only got one pay day before Glasto now, so that's a shitter... I would have said put some aside on the next two then you'd be ok...

- Don't go out between now and Glasto. Put aside the money you would use in an unopenable money box (good call!) - it'll make Glasto much better.

I've got two birthdays that I have to show my face at, but I won't be spending much money, and besides that, I'm a no social creature until Glasto...
