I was actually thinking this as I typed the post and wondering how I managed that one. If I remeber correctly I brought £300 in total - £200 to spend and £100 I had saved which was for emergencies. The £100 was stashed somewhere for emergencies and I brought a credit card too which I really didn't want to use but was there just in case. I think that's how I did it anyway. I was in a really good group of friends so I can always trust them to fall back on.

The best way for me to save money is also the most boring.

just give up booze for a month and be boring until glastonbury comes arpund.

dull as f**k but you'll save pounds in both meanings of the word

I don't get paid until the Thursday which is a pain in the arse really. Though only got my booze to buy now. I only work part time at the moment though so have quite a small income and I also have my MOT due on the 21st June as well as one of my best mate's stag do next weekend. Gonna be a tough month, especially if there is anything wrong with the car.

I'm sorta in the same bout, get paid the last day. But have been putting £50 away each month for a few months now to help, but also got my Tax the same month and still need to get diesel to get down there and beer! Hopefully should have the GF's deposit from her last flat to split between us because looking to go away this year.

if all else fails, glastonbury can be done on a budget! my first glasto in '04 i took the grand total of £25 with me. Despite the glasto fairy looking down upon me and guiding me to another £20 on the floor, £45 still isnt a great deal but i still had a great time, as long as you bring everything you need you dont really need any money at all.

Better times all round though if youve got a couple of hundred quid to blow, definitely

I'm sure you've thought of all of this, but my plans for saving money this month so I can spend it at Glastonbury are:

  • don't buy lunches during the working week, take some cans of soup or make at home

  • don't buy any booze

  • have Friday nights at home watching TV, dull but cheap

  • no new music, listen to spotify instead

  • no Costa Coffee or similar

as an incentive I'm going to have a little money pot which I put in all the money I've saved ie no £4 on lunch so in the pot it goes.
