Not really, nor do I read the telegraph, just find it particularly odd that someone comes one here to innocently suggest buying the Sun (a tabloid newspaper), to save people a few quid on some cider and certain people (dare I say the grief loving scousers), want to have a pity fest!

Like i said, bit of perspective.

My apologies to those of who have long-held beliefs never to buy this publication. When I posted this thread I was aware that many people were passionate about what paper they read and would never buy another one. However, I felt it only fair to alert those without such strong opinions that they could save themselves some money. I certainly never meant to cause offence.

I have to disagree I'm afraid.

In my opinion the is no such thing as a good reason to buy the sun.

I'd rather spend the extra fiver in morrisons than give that news paper any amount of money.

Just my opinion.

But they aren't the relatives of the majority of this country, Grief and injustice should be a personal thing and a personal battle. If I boycotted every newspaper that had printed mistruths about deaths, murders etc I would have few if any to chose from. Why should this case, sad and shameful as it was, be a reason not to buy a paper thats saving a few quid on some cider??

Easy to say behind the protective shield of your keyboard. Some people have very long memories and will change their stance for no reason what so ever. Its a sad testament to society that some people see this as wallowing in grief. Think about how it would feel to lose a friend or a relative in a disaster and to see disgusting lies printed damaging their names with no apology. That one city is united by this should be acclaimed rather than belittled. If more cities showed the same kind of solidarity maybe we would live in a better place. If you read carefully no one personally attacks the person thats made this suggestion. Feelings run high and always will until justice is served.

Like you said, a bit of perspective.

Exactly, I dont come from Liverpool let alone lose anyone in that one particular tragedy. Fight your fight by all means, not my fight though so dont see why after 20 years I should be expected to boycott a paper??

25 years since Heysel next year as well isnt it?

Is this this the same model city of solidarity where Rhys Evans was killed in a gang war and none of the community would speak out?>

Thought so.

Do the people who boycott The Sun also boycott Sky? Owned by the same bloke. Although I imagine a lot of scousers enjoyed paying their subscriptions and watching their team this season.

note: I boycott The Sun on the grounds that it is a shite paper!

WHAT AN ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING AND DISRESPECTFUL ATTITUDE TO HAVE TOWARDS 96 PEOPLE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES IN SUCH AN AWEFUL WAY!!!!

Liverpool is NOT the city of grief as you call it, it is a city that suffered a major tragedy that still hurts. It was also the captial of culture you (insert major insult here) as scouseLee rightly corrected you.

I can't believe that you are making a JOKE about the tragedy, and DONT deny it because you did make a joke of it. Not only that - but you did it on a thread which alot of us feel strongly about and you PURPOSELY posted it like that to upset people, hence the dons tin hat remark.

You should be ashamed of yourself. What a VILE VILE comment!

And finally, yes, Liverpool does have a perspective on this... alot of good people died - people we knew... so of course we have a perspective.

Right, I am going to shut up now as comments like yours make me feel sick to my stomach, just SICK!

(PS) Pear_Cider - no worries at all mate, I said it before and say it again - you were only trying to help and you letting us know about that deal will surely help some people out. No probs whatsoever!
