For a select few who have signed up...and have the time off work :) the party starts the Saturday before! Premeetastic!

Its a good point though. Maybe with it being a five day festival and having acts playing on all five days they might open it up earlier next year. Who here wouldn't mind spending and extra day at Glastonbury? I know I'd be up for it.

Gates open to the public at 8.00am on Wednesday 24th of June 2009. Remember, keep that ticket! DO NOT GIVE YOUR TICKET TO ANYONE UNTIL YOU GO THROUGH THE TURNSTILES.

Stewards@turnstilesYou will be given back your ticket which you will need for re-entry if you leave the site or go to the car parks. Security staff may ask to see your ticket during the event - so keep it secure!

Neither the Festival site nor campsites or carparks will open before 8.00am on Wednesday 24th June. Please do not plan your arrival before that. It cause local residents problems, there are no facilities available until then, and local police will move you on. From 8.00am on Wednesday pedestrian gates operate 24 hours a day until the end of the Festival. If you have any problems with your ticket, or getting on site, there are enquiry cabins at each pedestrian gate to assist you. Useful information about car & campervan passes and parking is available on our tickets page.

We will be arriving at 12.30ish on the Wednesday, providing national express runs on time. This is earlier than last year, we went up on Thursday morning, still plenty of camping space left too. Im worried about an extra day of dirt, gonna have to visit the green peace showers at least once this time, wetwipes and a bucket of water simply wont cut it this tme round. :)

in 2007 we set off really early, got a train from reading to castle carey and then got the bus from castle carey station - here's where the big delays started

at castle carey, there were massive queues for the bus & then once on the bus, the journey took forever down the narrow country lanes, which at this point were heavily congested :)

so you can plan to arrive earlier than last year, but there are big delays when using public transport :)
