Thursday evening - The place to be ?

Hello, This is my first trip to Glastonbury (and my first post - ever) I will be arriving on Thursday afternoon.

I was just wondering how many different stages / tents will be open and lively on the Thursday night, everything I seem to be reading thus far seems to indicate that only smaller areas will be open and these will have limited space so you would be lucky to get in.

Is this right? Any suggestions on the best place to make my Gkasto debut??

Thanks in advance guys!!!

Hello and welcome.

We are being lead to believe that there will be some stages that have acts on thursday. If these are in the evening or not, I don't know.

http://www.efestivals.co.uk/festivals/glas...9/lineup.shtml#

Thats the line up according to efests it list the bands playing on the thursday.

If not just wonder and you'll find something. Trash City is good. Jazz World will have lots of bars and people sitting around. The Stone Circle will be good.

Hope that helps.

the dance lounge & pussy parlure in the dance village are open on thursday night. annie nightingale always does her breaks party in pp, rumours suggest general midi will also be on.

Slippery Dicks Love Shack...a bar down steps off the railway track between Trash City and Shangri La is always pretty good for a late night boogie...good eclectic mix of sounds from 70's disco through 80's punk to 90's rave...undercover and often with a big bonfire outside.

strangely disconcerting high bar tho... :D

i think it becomes crew only from Friday onwards... :D

This is the type of event that I have heard will be held in a relatively small area and that capacity will be small, you would be lucky to get in, hmmmmmmmm.....although that annie nightingale does sound like it will be good - feeling the breaks at the mo!!!

Thanks for all the advice - it all sounds interesting (other than the stay in tent!!). I think i will do some random wandering and head for dance village and see how that pans out.........

Brian Harvey has to be a bit of a survivor/legend though - dating Emma B, getting scalped on a night out, then getting run over by his own car, and now nearly 20 years after admitting taking 15 pills a night or whatever on kids tv, he's playing Glasto!

I think that's quite tenacious.

Thursday actually sounds like a brilliant night, loads going on, and still 3 days of partying to come!

Seriously, e 17 - NO

Are you going with a crowd? (Thread ignorance) There is loads of stuff going on so do not worrry about that. If you are with a crowd then just go with the flow and you will not be dissapointed.

Personally, Thursday night is all about pottering about and getting a feel for things = hammered, and in the mood. Just stop worrying and get your butt to trash city.
