If you are a member of the general public:

The fact that you are seeing this page indicates that the website you just visited is either experiencing problems or is undergoing routine maintenance.

If you would like to let the administrators of this website know that you've seen this page instead of the page you expected, you should send them e-mail. In general, mail sent to the name "webmaster" and directed to the website's domain should reach the appropriate person.

For example, if you experienced problems while visiting www.example.com, you should send e-mail to "webmaster@example.com".

what are the odds on it becoming available at 10pm ;) with a little suprize?

:D

see where im going with this?

I specifically asked the person in charge of the website at Glasto the other day if the new site would launch along with the line-up, and was told a definite 'no'.

The reason I asked and the reason he said 'no' was the same reason - it's a very stupid thing to do (which Glasto discovered in the past), to launch a new website at a time of exceptional traffic levels.

I'm guessing this is a DNS issue. They've probably messed up switching the name servers and may have to wait for any changes to propagate. We could be waiting a while.....

:D .... if that was it (it won't be) can you imagine how frustrated some people would be, not being able to access the site for 48 hours while others were getting it almost straight away? :);)

When eFests has changed IP address, I've been able to have no one at all lose access ... it just takes a little thought. :)

Neil I am a luddite when it comes to computers. What are DNS and Apache??

Apache = a web server (hopefully you know what one of those is ;)).

DNS = Domain Name Server (or service?).

It's what makes the domain name you type in go to a specific IP address. Essentially, there's a look-up table - when you type in www.efestivals.co.uk, it looks that up in a DNS server (most likely your ISP's one), which then directs your request to a specific IP address.

It also means that I can change the IP address for efestivals (say if I moved to a different server at a different hosting company), without efests users getting lost trying to find the server.

DNS is what makes the whole of the internet hang together. :D
