I Havent been for 10 years - need a bit of info....

Hi, its 10 years since I last went to Glasto and its also my stag weekend so I want the festival to be as amazing an experience as I can for me and my whole stag party, so I could do with a bit of info and advice :

1, Whats the best place to camp to be close to Trash City but also close to the Pyramid and Other stage and not end up getting our tents flooded.

2, We're coming down on the Thursday so can anyone recommend anything for us to do with our time on the Thursday.

3, Can anyone recommend anything for us to check out.

Holts is probably your best bet, nice and central. not exactly close to trash city but then trash city is pretty much the opposite end of the site to pyramid/ other stage! but it definitely doesnt flood (we were camped there during the great floods of 2005 and were fine) whether there'l be any room left by thursday is another matter though :S

I recon if you camp in the other stage field, you've got easy access to the other stage, and Trash City is a 10 min walk down the railway line. You would have a bit of a trek to the pyramid though, especially when its busy.

Yeah, the view from the top of the park is amazing - even better than the view from the stone circle, so well worth a look - it does get pretty steep up there though!

One thing I do know is that you'll be amazed how much bigger its got - 10 years ago it was massive, its almost twice the size now! Prepare to get lost! And have a good one!

Thanks for all the info guys - I would love to come down on the Wednesday but my best man cant get the Wednesday off work, gutted.

To be fair, im a bit of a mad walker at festivals once im a bit wrecked anyway so just as long as I get camped somewhere that doesnt flood I'll be fine.

I'd expect the best man to send an advance party down there on Wednesday first thing to claim your spot and pitch everyone's tents in a good spot. After that they just need to make sure the beer and firewood are ready for you arrival.

If your best man can't organize a simple stag night, can you really trust him to reliable on the big day? Time for him to prove himself worthy of the honour!

where are you coming down from? if your best man can't (is too tight to!) take the day off i would still recommend driving down after work and arriving really late weds night.

it will make such a difference when you wake up thursday morning already set for a full day at the festival

Ive pretty much organised it all - he cant get the Wednesday off cos he co-owns his own business, cheeky bastard wont close his factory down for one extra day !!!
