Leftfield stage

Sorry if already discussed on here.

Does anybody know why the Leftfield stage/tent appears to have been wiped off the face of the festival?

I know they were never given much backing or hype by the organisers but it was usually packed out and had some really good stuff going on in there.

The Leftfield is not there this year

It is where I spent most of my time the last few years and I think I will feel a bit lost without it!

Where will Billy Bragg and Jim Bob play?

Apparently it will be back next time.

It's not known - publicly at least - whether it will be back next year, but depending on who you listen to there are encouraging signs.

Symbolically, the tower will be there this year and when I last spoke to the people who build the tower, there was - at that point - no decision to remove the Left Field lettering. How much there is to read into that I don't know, but personally I'm feeling hopeful.

Personally I have seen a multitude of brilliant performances in this tent, so much so I don't know where to begin. Chillax dude.

The rumours are that when the festival was looking like it could make a loss last year, Mr Eavis asked all participants if they would be prepared to help underwrite it. Apparently the Leftfield organisers (I think it's a London branch of the TUC) were less than willing so they were canned this year.

I'm not sure if it's true or not but I do know that there were a lot of panicky voices last year over the slack ticket sales.

It's an ebomination. Makes the fact its replacing the Leftfield even harder to swallow
