Yeah you queue up for ages and then charge your phone for a maximum of 20 minutes. They also have the internet in there. What I'd recommend is going down to the green fields. There's a place where you leave your phone to charge fully... all solar powered. You have to make a small donation but it's well worth it.

do what i do, get 4 d size btys strap them to together so there a BANK of btys, then get a female cigarette lighter with crocodile clips and clamp them on the + and - then you can charge anything with a car charger. it works ive used it for ages when on exercise. electricity is easy. if you need more info on this let me know!!

I quite liked it in there one year, there wasn't too much of a wait, the cafe bit sells lovely smoothies, Mr Scruff was playing, you could read the paper and chill for half an hour. Quite nice to have a little chill out time.

However sometimes by the Sunday the q is horrendous, and you would be much quicker going back to your car if you have one. Also some of the ice cream vans will charge for a fee, but you can just drop off and come back for them.

I think spare batteries are the way forward though, now that they are so cheap.

Best bet is to get a couple of batteries for your phone, just bought two off ebay for mine for £7, i won't be wasting time sat in a tent charging my phone!

id go for this or one of those chargers that take a AA battery. wont fully charge it but it'll give it some life. also if you have an older phone without loads of gadgets on the batterys always last longer, my old k850 lasted 5 days last year just by turning it off when i went to bed.

Never waste your time queueing and wasting precious Glasto party time at the silly old Orange tent.

There are canny stall owners in the markets and Green fields which have mini lockers, plugs in all and charge a fiver for you to leave the phone in the locker charging. Return when you think/know ya phone has fully charged. There are folks selling those mini nbattyer powered chargers which give enough charge but if you want to rely on those, take lots of spare AA batts...and never ever take a wind up charger before you will get lynched by everyone within hearing distance of the infernally annoying 'weeEEee weeEEee weeEEee' noise! :)

I also generally with the whole "spare batteries over charge tent" plan.. The Orange charge tents (for there are two) seem to have long queues for most of the time they're open, and they're only open for limited hours, and they'll especially have long queues during the time that you most want to use them, i.e. when they open in the morning before all the good stuff kicks off.

Anyway.. that said, there are two tents

Main Orange Charge Tent - this is the one others have referred to here, has a band/DJ spot in the corner, large seating areas upstairs and down, and basically tables are organised and labelled by connection type, so there are Nokia tables, Sony Erikson, HTC/Mini-USB/Blackberry, and so on. So you sit down in front of a plug that will work for your flavour, and sit there as it charges. Fun! (Not)

Wind Powered Mini Charge Tent - this place, with the big turbine thing on the roof (presumably it's wind powered) was much better than the main tent in one key respect - small locker things that you can leave your phone in and just wander off with the key to return later. But again, long queues..

the charge and chill tent isnt as bad as everyone makes out imo, you could have a smoke in there and listen to music, could be worse:)

when i went there was no queue though - later on i did see a massive queue outside

abu, just make sure you turn your camera/phone off when not needed & hopefully it will last the duration of the festival

:P
