Glasses wearers?

Just a quick note to let people know that Boots are giving out half price sunglasses vouchers if you spend £10 or more, it applies to either prescription or non prescription glasses.

I got one yesterday when I went to stock up on face wipes and other bits and bobs for Glasto.

I usually wear my contacts at Glasto, but I might get some prescription sunglasses for first thing in the morning when my hand/eye coordination isn't so hot..

This is all obviously under the assumption that it might be sunny at some point..but I figure if there are posts about wellies there can be posts about sunglasses too :-)

I don't want to be a laser bore.

But laser surgery rocks. Cheaper than contacts in the long run too.

Edit: which reminds me, I should update my avatar!

I've never understood how people could forget to take out contact lenses. It's like forgetting to take off your shoes before you go to bed lol...but then again, i'm not into getting completely hammered. Perhaps it's different then.

I've actually been worrying about what I'm gonna do on the glasses front.... I am horifically short sighted and haven't been able to wear contacts in the past. I've worn my glasses at other festivals I've been to (Glasto virgin...) but when I've worn them 'in the thick of it' ie where I will be for Blur they've always taken a beating and I can't be doing with losing them... think I'll see my optician and discuss the contacts situation again, but my eyes are also very sensitive to light (yes, I'm practically f**king blind :P ) so I have special glasses anyway....

If anyone else's eyes are as bad as mine, any help/advice/tips would be most welcome!

Not sure about Glasto specifically, but I can't see a small mirror being a problem. I usually take a mirror big enough for me to see my whole head at the same time, but it's plastic. I think I got it from Woolies a while back, but I'm sure there are other ones out there.

Regarding the contact lense/glasses situation, it might be worth chatting to your optician about the possibility of contact lenses. My eyes aren't too bad but I never used to be able to wear lenses, but it seems there have been a few advances recently, so it might be worth checking. Alternatively, I get my glasses from glassescrafter.com where it's super cheap (and there's loads of choice), so maybe you could get some cheaper ones for Blur etc.? Even if they don't have the light sensitivity thing, you might only wear them for a little while?

I'm out of ideas now :-)
