Leaving Monday.....Whats the Real Story?

it's really random! last year got to the car about 10am, drove out within the hour, no problem. other years i've been there at 9am and waited 10 hours to get out the car park.

arriving on the thursday should put you in a further out field, which 'should' be easier to get out of, but no garantees!

if you really want to getaway quickly i suggest early morning, if not, if the queue isn't moving i recommend parking up, and having a wander round site while it clears.

I really think it is just the luck of the draw! I have been in '05, '07 and '08. In '05 we arrived shortly after 9 and the other two years I think between kind of 8 and 9 on the Wednesday.

Monday in '05 - left at about 7.30am, got straight out. Monday in '07 - left at about 11am/midday. It was muddy so had to push the car out a bit but got straight out. Monday in '08 - left at about 2pm and got straight out.

I don't buy the theory that the later you arrive, the quicker you will be to get out, mainly because I have never arrived late and always got out quickly.

It is worth noting that in both '05 and '07 I recall there being messages on the radio saying that people were stuck for hours on end in the car parks, so it really is just the luck of the draw I think.

My advise would be 1/ Make sure you buy at least a bottle of water before leaving site, 2/ Don't get up early with the intentions of getting off the site early. Last year I felt mush more refreshed leaving it a few extra hours so I think it is important to get a good night sleep before embarking on the journey home, just in case you do end up sitting for hours in the car park and then have to do the drive home.

Oh and thirdly buy the Q Review mag on the way out as that will keep you entertained if you are stuck in the car park.

We arrive Wednesday first thing and normally park in E1, which is as close in as you can get, pretty much, but by leaving between 3am and 6am, we've always driven straight out. I wouldn't leave it any later than that, but then I'm lucky that my other half doesn't drink so he doesn't mind the 'sober Sunday night' thing!

it can literally go either way, 2007 me and my bf were in the carpark for 7 hours and moved about 3 meters, last yr we were out in 10mins!

id say be prepared and leave some food, a towel and a good book in the car for the wait! and defo some water

i also recommended going to the toilet before the drive aswell because there are no toilets in the carpark!
