is anyone else really sick of hearing people moaning on about v

it is what it is, a commercial festival, the fact that its owned by a big business like virgin should give it away really.

If you don't like it simple SELL YOUR TICKET and DONT GO!!!!!

I think its quite unfair towards the people who are looking forward to the festival and the newbies who haven't been before. They have brought there tickets knowing the line up and its not really fair to put a downer on it for everyone and moan on about how crap they think its going to be. You are just spoiling it for the rest of us.

To all the complainers please quit moaning on like a load of OAP'S!!! Its getting really old and boring now!!

jeez!!

You let pretty superficial text on a screen from people you do not know 'put a downer' and spoil it for you? Surely you should be a little bit more confident in your emotions and the weekend for that to happen? I'd hate to be so easily influenced or are you, like those you talk of, found of moaning? I mean you are moaning about the moaners. Ironic isn't it?

If you don't like people complaining, simple don't look at an open discussion forum. It is after all here for people to talk and share their opinions, positive or negative.

You are obviously one of the complainers and feel the need to defend yourself, there really is no need i was just making a comment on what i have seen on here.

What people are saying doesn't have the slightest effect on my enjoyment but i just don't understand in coming on here to moan about a festival and i think it spolis the excitement of it for newbies . Why do people go if they don't like it? I just don't understand it makes no sense.

James I'm no detective but I'm guessing the 82 might have something to do with date of birth mate, so she clearly ain't 17... I could be wrong but its a rare thing!

The rumour is organisers will quiz people on the gates as to their musical tastes, and anyone who actually has any will be barred. That should please the newby N-Dubz fans.

Mind you, I'm glad I'm so omnipotent that a merest scintilla of criticism from me can ruin a festival for liderally fasands of people. I learned it all from Chomsky, y'know. Seriously, I paid my money; I'm entitled to moan - that's a democracy, folks.....

Well, I don't have any problem with people moaning on here, nothing wrong with free speech whatsoever. As has been pointed out, the lineup is pretty bad compared to a few years ago. However I am quite looking forward to seeing Oasis, the Killers, The Wombats and several others.

I am doing two festivals this year, Glastonbury and V.

I chose Glastonbury partly because of the reputation it has both on here and also in popular culture. The other reason was partly because it's near me.

I chose V because of the Efest Camp there.

However at the moment if I were to choose two festivals I would go to, I wouldn't choose either of them and would have instead chosen Download and Sonisphere. Guess I will go to those two next year.

In all fairness the problem with V, and pretty much all the other big festivals bar Glastonbury is the Nanny State atmosphere.

There's threads on all the forums about trying to get booze into the arena, problems getting served, the place practically shutting down at midnight etc etc.

I guess one of the reasons that most of the Glasto lot are critical is that we've never seen an "Arena". The place is one big arena with all the stages, areas AND campsites together inside the main perimeter. You can take your booze wherever you want and sit in front of the main stage with a crate if it takes your fancy.

Irrespective of the lineup I think it's this that really sticks in people's throats. The atmosphere is just sooooo much more relaxed and you don't feel you're being taken for every penny during the day and being told to go to bed like good little kids after the last band. The best part of Glasto is after the bands with all the other entertainment through the night.

Not trying to offend anyone or spoil their festival enjoyment because I loved V when I went as it was my first festival experience. The thing is that after seeing what Glasto had to offer it opened my eyes somewhat.
