gemstarrr
Would still like to know what LITP is? And the Elton John thing, I know it was bad, but according to Elton and Lily, it was blown out of proportion, they were still friends afterwards, Im sure shes sorry, I forgive her. freehugs!
How the OP can moan about how high Lilly Allen is, then mention Fleet Foxes in the same post without pointing out how high they are, is astounding.
fingers_mark
Big does not equal good. If it did we'd have a festival full of Westlife, Duffy, Mc Fly, Coldplay and Leona Lewis.
Detective McNulty
Haha musical intellect. Didn't see that.
remote
I thought I might come back to a few more pages than this once LITP saw it.
robith
IMO she is garbage and appeals to those with little or no musical intellect who are happy to listen to flowery pop songs without substance. Fair play to her for hoodwinking so many people thou.

falkirk bairn
Pray tell what exactly is musical intellect? Is it based on how complicated a piece of music is? Because some of the most important and influential musicians have been simplicity personified. I generally find "musical intellect" is stuff displayed by people who think that *insert band of reference of the month* are incredible and just have a snobbery about pop music because it somehow makes them feel better about themselves and they can't seperate that music can be art or pure entertainment and it's perfectly ok to be the latter. And the thing is, I don't even like Lily Allen. I just hate "Oh it's pop music it must be rubbish, I'm going to w*nk off to a 7/4 time signature"

Billy09
She's a lot better than your average throwaway pop rubbish. Her lyrics are clever, she's got a nice voice (most of the time, have seen her letting herself down a bit), and her records are well produced with good backing tunes. Her version of "lady is a tramp" on Jools Holland's new year show was stunning. Enjoyed her last time, and reckon she warrants a reasonably high slot on what is, afterall, the main(stream) stage. She isn't doing anything revolutionary music wise, but is charismatic and entertaining. Give her a break.
markeee
Agreed! I'm gonna see her, I love the cutesy pie voice singing lyrics like 'fcuk you, fcuk you very very much'

chuckley
my only problem with her @ the festival is that shes on the pyramid when she cant even fill it. she may be a big artist in UK terms, but that dont mean u suit a big ol stage like that... she strikes me as an indoory/smaller stage act. ukslim
It's not for me; tried it once, kept losing my count. 1234,123,1234,123, 1234,12...ah bugger.

JoeBananass
I don't really mind her. She's quite fit, and her music has its own sound which is at least something in this day and age (thought the fear was a good pop tune), but I wouldn't walk across the site to see her, and she does come across as a royal pain in the arse. rfs
Musical intellect? Who the f**k wants musical intellect? ... surely all the best music should bypass the intellect and head for the heart and the groin?
abu hamster
I saw her walking about last year near the park stage I always thought she was quite fit but she was rather dumpy! Id rather her than Alesha Armoury Dixon!

Ashaz42
Lily has grown on me quite a bit. I saw her as a laugh, but listening to more, I quite like it. Probably seeing her there. Unless she clashes with The Horrors.
robith
I started this post as a rant about lilly allan playing the pyramid not about all pop music being rubbish. As far as i'm concerned it's the 3 minute pop song that has driven music for the last 60 years and i'm sure that in 20 years time we'll all be singing along to todays 3 minute gems on VH1 or some radio 2 prog. I am someone who is old enough to remember the first 3 minute pop tunes from the 50's and generally listen to what ever i think is good, be it 3 minute tune from the latest "pop" find or by a long established favourite, because i like it and not because it's this weeks favourite band or singer. The 3 minute pop song will always be there and i hope they always will. THE 3 MINUTE POP SONG IS DEAD LONG LIVE THE 3 MINUTE POP SONG
Lily Is The Princess
She's a lot better than your average throwaway pop rubbish. ShadyBlueBell
Normally i don't bother much about who's playing and which stage they're on but this just couldn't get past me without having to have a rant. Gonna have to suffer her while waiting between sublime harmonies of Fleet Foxes and sublime memories of The Specials. Anybody got any ear defenders i can buy while the mass exodus from pyramid lets us get closer to the front for the specials.
