I thought her lyrics were a bit kinda like that of The Streets, reflecting real life, rather than using poetic imagery for example. Not everyone can be Bob Dylan, and not everyone wants Bob Dylan.

I've always wondered how the hell she got to where she has but the 50/50 ish responses in this thread clearly prove me wrong.

Frankly, I'd rather be stuck in a lift with the chipmunks doin a 3 hour tribute to Mika but, of course, the beauty of Glastonbury means I can be a long way away while she demonstrates her tremendous wit on the pyramid.

Actually it is true, very true but then you have to consider just how very open that phrase is Brittany Spears writes her own lyrics there is not an advertising standard in the world can deny that claim.

You'll note in the phrase "she writes her own lyrics" it doesn't say either all her lyrics or indeed that she uses her own lyrics its a catch all phrase used by an amazing amount of artists.

That said interlectual music tends to always be another term for "Stuff I like" so lets not get bogged down with that standard either

the phrase I responded to was "and she writes her own stuff" - her "stuff" is both music and lyrics.

I'm not suggesting that her writing is of the level of the likes of Girls Aloud, who change a word or two and get co-credited for the whole song's lyrics. But neither is it of the level of an artist who does all of the creative of a song.

There are far worse musicians out there than her. I can also see why people find her music catchy after I have heard a couple of her recent songs.

However for some reason I strongly dislike this woman and would like for her to fall down a well. It's like when you meet someone but feel a strong dislike for them but you can't really put your finger on why you do.
