barring jamie cullum, i dont see any other jazz...ive only had a quick glimpse , but theres alot of reggae, african based, and other ethnic world acts,

my question is, why dont they change it to the world music world, or the stage of world music,

i know my point may be riddled with ignorance...

but do you get my point?

Yep, that's a good point.

The names of stages at Glastonbury have always been a bit strange.

The new bands stage (now called the John Peel) didn't have new bands, it was just a new stage one year so that's what they called it. But the following years, when it was no longer new, but they still called it the new bands stage.

The Other Stage is one of about 20 stages, but none of them are called "the other other stage" or "another stage".

And I've got no idea at all why the Pyramid is called the Pyramid B):O

Its been that way for a while - agree it should be renamed something like Obscure Acts From Far Flung Places Stage..it misses a trick really - this is where you need real crowd pleasers - as its kind of the centre / walkthrough. I walked through it a lot last year..

They changed the name to "One World" stage or something like that a few years back but I think so many people still referred to it as the Jazz Stage/World that it was probably confussing for first timers. At least I guess this was why the new name only lasted a year.

Oddly enough on my litterpicker work form - it was listed as the One World Stage - thought they must have been changing it back to that this year, obviously not - but ye, it isn't really a jazz stage predominately so its a bit odd.
