Neil Young Vs Ray Davies

Didnt know, until reading Uncut last night, that The Kinks were supposed to play the first every Glasto until they saw a piece of press with "Kinks to play small festival" in it. They pulled out thinking they were too big for it.

Id say Neil Young only because ive see Ray Davies who ive seen three times before and ive never seen Young - but then again there is the Doves option.....

I feel as though I am alone though probably not in not really knowing who Neil Young is (apart from the add on to Crosby Stills and Nash in their parents CD collection) or what is so great about him. I've listened to some of his stuff on Spotify and can't seem to 'get it' is you know what I mean. A few good tunes but nothing to say YOU MUST SEE THIS GUY AT GLASTO.

Can any one show me what I'm missing?

(otherwise I may end up watching Bloc Party when I am going to see them at Reading anyway)

Undoubtedly the worst clash of the fest for me. Was so excited at the thought of seeing Ray, then so disappointed when I saw the clash.

Ask yourself: if they are both equally good but you can't see both at Glasto who are you most likely to be able to see another time? That answer has to be Ray Davies.

Therefore at Glasto go for Neil Young.
