nidz
Haven't been in ages , going again this year , any comparison with 90 - 95 , any footage of 1990/92 doing the rounds . Thanks
Billy09
Lot less busy than it was for my first in '95. Safer. Less edge. Fewer Scallies/Yardies/Travellers. Some pros, some cons.
Laura_Babs
I didn't go until 2005 for the first time and I can even say that between 2005 and 2007, there was change! I can't imagine what the change must be like from the 90s to now. Wish I had been there in the 90s though!
nidz
It was busy in 95 alright , major crush after Oasis and Prodigy on the Friday . Good times though , seems to be a load of good world music and reggae on this year . There used to be a kind of illegal dance area up near the the crusties field , I guess the 8 dance stages this year are are a sort of replacement for that ?? Banco de Gaia and Steve Hillage , thought they'd given it up .
mikey_100
It feels more middle class than when I started going. As a boy that had grown up in a small village (just down the road) it was a bit of an eye opener with people stoo din the market places openly declaring drugs for sale. This has all gone now and the underground edge is not there quite as much as it was, however the festival does feel safer but as dr_billy has already said this change provides some pros and some cons. RikSpur
first Glasto in 85. Been most years since (missed 1) The festival now bears little resemeblance to my first. Still absolutely love it. Loved it through the mad 90's. Seems alot more 'organised' now but it's still a wonderful experience. I love the fact that it's now officially 24 hours, no need to dance outside Joe Bananas at 5 in the morning. I could go on .............. nidz
If my memory serves me well , the most unique and best thing about Glastonbury was the suprise element. You'd never know what to expect , The Sugar Lump tent , the reggae soundsystems , the general mayhem that I have to admit was a big part of why we kept going year after year. things that no other festival had . I never felt unsafe , just good memories . Are all the random soundsystems gone? Thanks for the replies.
Billy09
ah the yardies with their cries of 'rocks n tings rocks n tings' those were the days!

LusciousLucy
No soundsystems anymore...tis a quiet quiet place in the markets these days at night and is quite sad. BUT Trash, Shangri and The Park are the modern party zones and are ace. Check out the Bassline Circus without fail!
