This is going to be my 5th leeds festival and every year i have known about 90% of the bands playing in this tent. However i have spent the last 9 months living in america and completely out of the loop of mainstream british music, now i was wondering if due to this im unaware of quite a lot of these names on the nme lineup this year. Can people help me out with some information on bands like:

Dinasaur pileup

Delphic

spinnerette

broadway calls

incase of fire

metronomy

passion pit

the virgins

the airborne toxic event

little boots

florence and the machine

friendly fires

It may be some of those listed above are established names that have just simply bypassed me before. What genre are they and some good song recommendations would be appreciated!

Spinerette are 2 members from The Distillers new band. Very electro but apparently live it is alot more like a distillers gig.

Broadway calls are very much american. Your average pop-punk. Not bad if you're into that sortof thing.

Passion Pit: I really like these guys, one of the best new bands this year in my opinion. They are an electro/indie group, a bit like Hot Chip i think, topped with some really high vocals lol. I would advise listening to the Chunk of Change Ep, especially Sleepyhead, I've got your number, Smile upon me and Cuddle fuddle. They have a new album called Manners that i've not heard yet, but i've heard the single The Reeling and that is also very good too. I'd really like to catch them, clashses permitted on the sunday, of course :^(
