joew89
im going to have to go to all the secret gigs just incase it is the libs, i wouldnt be able to live with myself if i missed them. arent arctic monkeys a reading/leeds exclusive? that would rule them out. would be awesome though. kanye is apparently going to be there to play with mr hudson. he wouldnt go all that way just for that surely! i was hoping to see the rifles at glasto but as they are not in the line-up ive got my fingers crossed they will do something secret. i think the most likely acts are: klaxons the cribs kayne west kaiser chiefs - if i miss kasabian for this secret gig and find out its kaiser chiefs...... crashnburn
Last year all the special guest acts were announce in the paper that is given out free in the morning. Be a bit careful, as the times got a bit messed up on the park stage last year, so get there early if it's someone you like, just incase they play an earlier slot than you were expecting. I would put a lot of money on The Klaxons playing up there. They played twice at the festival a couple of years ago, so I think they are well liked by Emily. They're also the type of band that are into surprises, plus it's an ideal opportunity for them to try new songs out, like Franz Ferdinand last year. I think there's a chance Jack Whites new band The Dead Weather will play, which wouldn't be all that special for most people, as they've not heard of them before. However they are in the country during Glastonbury, and it was strange they were not on the line-up. Last, I'd go for Vampire Weekend. Just a gut feeling. They are doing a few live dates, and Emily would love to get them. They're another that would probably like to try out new songs on a smaller stage. Alternatively, it could be a bigger band already announced, doing a surprise set, like Doves, or Fleet Foxes. It won't be anyone really big. Arronbury
I'll chuck in my two pennies worth of random guesses. 1) Placebo will surely be playing one of the secret spots if the article on Orange world is anything to go by: "Don’t go to Glastonbury unprepared. Listen to the advice of our seasoned festival-goers Dizzee Rascal, The Maccabees and Placebo in our special celebrity survival guide video. We even got The Prodigy to share their survival tips with us - Keith’s top tip is “get a helicopter”. Once you’ve checked out the stars’ advice, we’ve got some more down-to-earth survival tips here." Everyone else in that list has been announced in the line-up so surely it would be a bit random to have Placebo in there for any other reason? 2) I may be barking up the wrong tree but I am thinking that the fabled '4th headliner' still applies a bit i.e. they are a headline band but not necessarily in a headline slot. Originally it was meant to be 2 British, 2 American and so if you deduct Bruce = American, Blur = British, Neil Young = Canadian-but-thats-good-enough-American-for me then it would leave 1 British. I'm undecided between Coldplay and Radiohead
shiveringsky
I'm going with Placebo. This just based on the fact that they were rumoured for the festival and appear in a Glastonbury 2009 festival survival guide video along with Prodigy and Dizzee. That's my tuppence. dvb
I reallyyy want it to be the libertines, and i think they could play, but i dont think it will be them. i reckon muse and radiohead are most likely, eavis said he wanted muse for last year but couldnt get them, and radiohead im sure were supposed to be the 4th headliner and not long ago he was talking to one of them abou possibility of doing something other than headline. http://www.bbc.co.uk/glastonbury/2007/bbcn...interview.shtml

NowhereMan
Are you being serious ? You can't seriously think that it'd be muse or radiohead. There is NO WAY that either of them would play the park stage, mainly becuase of the obvious safety hazards ! and lets be realistic here. Its NOT gonna be the Monkeys. Its NOT gonna be the Libertines (ITS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN, I LOVE THE LIBS BUT IV GOT OVER IT) Its DEFINATLEY NOT going to be Muse or Radiohead. Muse in particular. I'd be less suprised if the original line-up of the stooges played. Dead Weather/Vampire Weekend/Klaxons are best shouts so far IMO

philreeduk
I'd reckon Placebo, new album out playing dates around that time i believe so sounds logical. As for the other two im not sure, make sure that you get the glastonbury app for your moblies this year as last year on the day it flashed up who was playing the timeslots. If you are planning to head to the park on the saturday for the special guests go see Shlomo! saw the guy last year before the last shadow puppets played he was the best thing i saw all weekend!! Plus loads of special guests. There was get cape wear cape fly, martha wainwright, santagold and dj yoda to name a few!!
