It was Radiohead. Look at the timing - the 'No 4th headliner' news came on the same day as Reading/Leeds was announced.

the no 4th headliner news came the day after eFestivals had had a conversation with a certain senior Glasto staff member, who wanted the 4th headliner thing put to bed as it was no longer happening.

The only reason it coincided with the Reading/Leeds announcement was because the Glastonbury Emerging Talent finals - where we had that conversation - happened to take place the weekend before the Reading/Leeds announcement, and for no other reason. There was absolutely no link whatsoever with what was going on at Reading/Leeds.

Nice to see the Radiohead rumours never go away !

Will we still be at this in 3 weeks time !

Shall I still bring my Radiohead Quiz to Glasto just in case !

:P

Very simply, I don't feel it's my place to say.

The line-up being released doesn't make any difference to this - if I was going to say, there'd have been no reason not to say who it was at the time we revealed that it wasn't happening.

It's far better to look at the world by what does happen than by what doesn't. The line-up we've got is great, what more needs to be said?

Logistically, how would the 4th Headliner have worked?

Would it of been a Thursday main stage slot? Or would it just be that they play second, but are given the same press as the 3 'real' headliners? Or some sort of joint set?

the 4th headliner was planned to play before Springsteen.

There is of course a band playing before Springsteen - Kasabian - who were announced as "special guests". They are not the band that was to be the 4th headliner.

why did you bother mentioning that you knew then?

To show that it was actually on the cards and not some sort of cheap marketing ploy i presume...?

I mentioned it, as I said above, because if I don't say "don't ask me" then I spend ages fending off requests to be told. If I do say "don't ask me" I get this sort of shite. Why would or should I pretend not to know when I do?

But yes, also to verify that I know it to have been a genuine plan and not just fake marketing blurb.

Personally I assumed that the 4th headliner was going to be on thursday when it was originally announced, especially when they said it was going to be a 5 day festival now (although it already is!).

How can someone be a headliner if there is another act on after them on that stage?!

Either way, its not happening now.
