Pre Glasto warm up - what are you doing?

I love the night before festivals - often meant to be a 'quiet' one, but not always the case!

Anyone got any fun plans? My mates and I are taking the coach from Southampton - where I'm currently based - so they'll come up on the Tuesday afternoon and we'll go on an alcohol mission and then sit in the garden listening to an epic Glasto playlist whilst beginning the drinking! Almost more excited about the anticipation than the festival itself! The plan is just to have a couple of beers, but this never happens...

How is everyone else welcoming in the 2009 festival?

Same as I always do - drive from Newcastle to Worcester, have a few beers and a feed there, and then try to get some kip until 7am when we get up, have brekkie, and drive to Pilton. :-D

Fly to Bristol on the Tuesday afternoon and drive down to Wells to the B&B.

Spot of dins and a pint, then get the last decent kip of the week before heading down to the site for 8am.

Drive from Newcastle to Nottingham to pick up a mate. Then drive to Bath where we are staying over night. Check in to the hotel then out in Bath for a few drinks. Bed, sleep, up shower straighten hair and drive to Glastonbury for gates opening at 8am.

Checking my bag for any last minute bits of crap I think I may need

Cooking a nice dinner

Making sure my legs are tanned enough to look alright in my uniform of mini shorts and wellies

Awaiting the arrival of my Glasto-buddy

Try not to get too hammered in my excitement for Wednesday morning.

Having a very pissed evening in the riflemans pub in glastonbury, went last year and it was great.

Plan to get an early night ready for the early morning drive (wont work)

Think "oo its ok ill have a quick nap when we get there" then we arrive and i realise im at Glastonbury, forget the sleep idea and crack open a cider instead

i'll already be on site...so probs just chilling at the campsite. might go for a wander around.

glasto is amazing when there arent any crowds. it's awesome watching all the last minute preparations!

inverness down to edinburgh for about 7pm. have a nice edinburgh chippy and maybe a can of pimms. then wait for the bus to london.

3rd year and no traditions yet. done it different each time

It'll be my lovely, beautiful and wonderful (yes, she does read the forum!) girlfriend's birthday, so I imagine her parents, sister (also going to Glastonbury) and the pair of us will be going out for a meal in the evening (seeing as we are using the 'rents' house as a half way stop off between us and a field in Somerset). After presents, the making of pancakes and declarations of undying love in the morning of course .

well it was suppose to be early night and set of at 5am from Bolton BUT it now looks like we are setting off at 3.330am so we can be 1 of first in ...so i might just go on piss and stay up all night as im not driving

getting the bus from liverpool to bristol, then going out there, getting wrecked

Getting the train from Plymouth to Bristol with a mate, and staying at another mates. Then in Bristol it's off to the supermarket to stock his car up with beers, then back to his flat. Probably havea few quiet ones there, then up early wednesday morning for the short drive from Bristol to Pilton

No plans as yet but it will involve last minute packing, checking my Glasto ticket every 10 mins and probably end up dragging some mates down the local boozer while I make then jealous of my adventure ahead. Once drunk I will probably make my mix CD for the drive down in Pehaw's Vengabus on Weds morning...

This is the first time I haven't worked at least half a day on the Wednesday. I will be trying to get an early night as will be leaving at 6ish the next morning (try to get round the M25 before the rush hour traffic starts).

I am staying in Sparkford Inn about 10 miles from site, nice country pub with the missus, intending to eat a large meal and get battered, lol
