yup.

The Foos were in the running for this year, but due to them taking this year off it never got beyond a very short call that was made very shortly after last year's fest (as told to me by the man who made that call).

It sounds like Michael isn't convinced of their suitability for Glasto tho, I guess cos they're a heavier act than is normal.

But I wouldn't take these things too literally - what Michael is thinking this long before a festival only very rarely comes to fruition.

Umm... I swear I saw the foos in 98 and they were awesome... what's this about them possibly NOT being suitable for Glasto despite them having playing before to a very receptive crowd??? They haven't changed their sound that much in the last 11 years and if anything they've gone a bit softer than they were in 98 IMO. Would be great to see them again!

yeah, the foos have played before, somewhen around then.

But - I'm guessing - I think it's them as a headliner that Michael might be thinking them as perhaps not suitable. Glastonbury has a few heavier acts every year, but it's not had one as a headliner as far as I can remember.

I see three things on this forum concerning mike99.

One is silly (but totally harmless) threads like "Hands up who likes me" started by the man himself.

Another is silly (but totally harmless) mocking of mike99s silly (but totally harmless) threads.

And the third is really whiney people constantly saying "Hey man, leave mike99 alone, he's like a totally free spirit etc etc blah blah". I never even realised there was this mike99 vs the world thing until a saw all these goody goodies posting about it.

I mean given how much attention he pulls on to himself, do you really think he minds someone starting a thread about what his next new thread will be??!!!!

It seems that even a Glastonbury Forum has no immunity to all the PC madness that has infected the media over the last couple of years
