A Big Decision

Right, me and my mate have got two Leeds tickets for the whole weekend camping.. but we desperatly ! want to go to Glastonbury instead. We can either:

> Sell our Leeds tickets and hope to god we can get our hands on some Glasto tickets.

Or > We can keep our Leeds tickets and go... and just accept we cant go to Glastonbury this year as much as we want to.

We really dont know what to do. If we were gaurenteed to pick some Glasto tickets up within the next week or so... the Leeds tickets would be on ebay tmoro. But if the its too much of a risk we shall just go to leeds which tbh, we dont want to. But its better than not going to both.

Some help would be much appreciated !

As far as i'm aware, tickets for glasto are still on sale at http://www.seetickets.com/g2009/

So why don't you just go and buy your glasto tickets and when you get the confirmation through e-mail, sell the leeds tickets on ebay. If you stick them on with Buy It Now at the price you paid, they'll be gone instantly, i've done it before for tickets i've had to sell cus of useless mates.

yeah and then you can sell your leeds ticket, put a deposit down for working leeds and buy a glasto tickets. bet the leeds tickets would go for loads so you'd be able to do it. then you can go to both!

Thats the problem, once you put your Registration number in and your post code it comes up that Tickets for 16+ are sold out : /, ive heard of people luckily going on the site and landing on a couple of tickets when they have appeared to have been sold out. But is that too much of a risk.

Because we need the money for leeds tickets to buy the glastonbury tickets..

I've read some people saying on this forum that if you call See up three or four times, you'll hit upon someone who actually knows something and will sell you a ticket. The others will just tell you it's sold out.

Also there was a guy selling a photo-less ticket on the forum in exchange for a little help with his luggage cus of his disability but that was only one ticket.

Am I right in thinking you tried to buy form the seetickets link posted above and it said there are no adult tickets?

Yehh, the plan was to get two aged 13 - 15 tickets which are still available. And on the day ill just pass as being 15, but whilst trying to get those tickets you need an adult to buy a 16+ ticket at the same time.. and as they are sold out, its kinda impossible.

(and selling your only festival ticket to fund it is risky...I'd see if I could borrow the money shoudl Glasto tickets become available again, and promise to give it back by selling the Leeds ticket after you had secured your glasto ticket)...good luck!

Well we're going to V and Bestival aswell but we wanted to make sure we went to one more.. a big one which was either Leeds or Glastonbury, and as they announced the leeds line up and released tickets.. we kinda (without thought) just bought two tickets.. then only yesterday decide Glastonbury was the place to be.

It our own fault totally, just seeing if theres a way of working around it

And the idea of adding two childrens tickets to someone who had bought an adult ticket is also a problem as we kinda know no one

I suppose we could try to get someone willing to buy the glasto tickets if some appeared, then sell the leeds ones closer to august.

The Guardian is giving away 50 pairs of tickets according to its front page on Friday. Try that!

Worth a shot...newspaper competitions often don't get as many applications as you'd think.

and I should know, as I have one of my own! He's lucky that Glast is his family holiday this year

Anyway well done to you for having sorted V and Bestival, whatever happens, it's going to be a great Summer for you, and at least you know what to do next year

The only thing i can think of is finding someone willing to add two 15 year old tickets to their bill, but i suppose the whole thing of trust etc may be a problem :/

do you have no way of making any money to pay for the glasto tickets yourself? you say you are 16, dont you have a saturday job?, thats how I got any money when I was 16, paid for my festy tickets with that. Or you could sell some things, cds or whatever, ebay stuff etc.

It sounds like selling the Leeds tickets on eBay should be certainty if you sell them for the face value. So why not borrow the money for the Glastonbury tickets from a friend or relative and start trying for adult Glastonbury tickets (via the internet and by phone).

If you manage to get Glastonbury tickets then you sell the Leeds tickets and repay your friend/relative. If you don't get Glastonbury tickets you just give back the money to your friend/relative and go to Leeds.

If people aren't willing to lend for free you could pay them interest, say £5 per ticket. That's almost a 3% return over a few weeks - not bad in the current economic climate.
