Alcatraz
You're a bad man, a Grass. Not a very Glasto thing to do in my opinion.

Chris12345
!!! You need to update your Festival tour thing in your sig, It's misleading
Alcatraz
Haha! Well spotted, yes I do, long story... short version: basically I was gonna do Download but I've got an operation on the 9th, so had to cancel (which is f**king queer, cos the lineups immense!)... so've decided on Glasto instead! (Wouldn't usually be my thing but its the only festival I can do in June before I leave and after my operation!)

dieweener
Out of interest, how do we know it isn't just a big scam? I mean, anyone can write a sympathy story, can't they? Maybe i've just watched a bit too much The Real Hustle but if it seems too good to be true, it probably is!
JodiB
Why scam for face value ? what would the scam be ? Fake ticket ? I doubt it.

dieweener
Could be! Hoping that some newbie to Glasto gets in touch who doesn't fully get the photo thing and just meets in a cafe or something and just gives them a fake. And face value or not, it's still £185 which is a lot of money and if it turns out to be a counterfeit ticket, the person would be majorly pi**ed off! I got scammed once, wasn't nice! Probably why I just don't trust things like this, just seems a lil too, i dunno, perfect in a way.
dieweener
Do you mean Lobotomy? They've offered to do a hand to hand exchange... they've described the picture (although, admittedly, somewhat vaguely)... what more do you want? I trust that if one of you suddenly couldn't go you'd burn your ticket?
scaryclaireyfairy
Why do that? What if they have no choice, something has come up and they just want face value back for their ticket. Stop being a rat and let see deal with their own tickets.

Chris12345
Trust me, I've been scammed on eBay tickets before... lesson learnt and all that... but I don't get how everyone is so keen to jump on someone who's selling a ticket for face value and willing to do it face to face?
themuel
I don't think that person needs reporting. If someone can't go due to ill health what is the harm in them reselling the ticket for what it cost them? Otherwise they lose a hefty amount of money. It is breaking the rules, but it's not doing it in a malicious way. I feel sorry for the poor guy not going. If hes not going due to being poorly then to know this far in advance I would guess it is something serious

The Dawg
Surely the idea of GFL and the passport ID style tickets is to stop ticket touts buying up 130,000 on the day odf the sale? My opinion is objective achieved and do not blame someone like this trying to recoup a lot of dosh. Personally I would of tried to ring GFL nad explain the situation, as well as blagged as to why they didn't buy the insurance! but what the hell. F*** it I am going to sell my ticket and jump the fence! - anyone in?
dieweener
I'm not saying it's not legitimate, i'm just wondering why everyone instantly thinks it's genuine? It very well could be and her brother is ill so fair play to her, but there are evil b@$tards out there who prey on innocent people just to make a quick buck. If you were the person who bought it and then they said meet me in the city centre or something, you buy the ticket for £185, get to the festival only to be told it's a fake, how pissed would you be? You don't know where the person lives cus you met in open space and you've lost your money and wasted your time. Just a hypothetical scenario. Chris12345
No more hypothetical than any other scenario... and (as far as I remember) no one's said it's 100% for sure definitely genuine... they're just saying that it seems that way... I trust if you were spending that much money you'd at least have a half decent idea of what you were supposed to be buying was meant to look like...
