IamChappu
I quite frankly can't wait to see them! Nothing like a bit of cheesy sing along rock to get my day started. They're actually one of the few bands I'm going to see on the Pyramid Stage....... (1st post by the way!! )
cabstar
In the Army Now is a great song!!! glastoman417
with all due respect... you're talkin' out yer arse, and with a degree of arrogance that is rarely seen... you don't like them? well bully for you. How do you think they've managed to be as popular as they for so long if everyone hates them. One tune?... no less diverse than hundreds of bands.. ZZ Top, Ramones, Sex Pistols.. I could write a very long list. Un-Glastonbury ... again... straight of the backside Have you been to Glastonbury OR heard Status Quo... I'm not that mad about them, I just don't like arrogant bollocks going un-checked PS click here, scroll down to 'preview all', and tell me that those songs all sound the same peace.. LusciousLucy
Exactly, it really is that simple. I fear for the state of my vocal chords after an afternoon of Quo, Tom Jones & Madness Edited May 29, 2009 by LusciousLucy

mikeb
...can eavis do worse next year ... ...only west life could be worse. .. ... a scientific experiment by eavis to see whether the glastonbury crowd will basically go to see and enjoy an act on the pyramid stage however bad they are . as proved by jay z last year ... So the last point don't go to see the quo don't just cheer any old crap or eavis will fill the pyramid with crap and you will be to blame. Who knows les dennis could be there next year Edited May 29, 2009 by mikeb
ross1
i will avoid them, and be quite glad that a f**kton of other people are watching them, to let me watch a better band with less of a crush around me.
Martin Ashford
Status Quo will surely put on the performance of their lives for Glastonbury and I predict they will be THE hit act that really unites the crowd in a huge celebration of life, good times and all the things that really matter to people. They are a seriously great band that have been disrespected by the music industry for far too long. Don't miss them whatever you do.
grumpyhack
I remember John Fogarty, who wrote Rocking All Over The World, doing a great version a couple of years ago on the Jazz Stage. No one criticised that. Quo have made it their own and I'm sure will have everyone on their feet. Let's have a good sing-song while the musical snobs go off and find someone playing the Indian Nose Flute.
Chimps in Balaclavas
This is the kinda thinking that I can't really understand TBH, I've no doubt that there's no shortage of peeps who are dead chuffed they're playing. As for me, sure, I know a few of their numbers but I'm defo not a Quo fan, I've never bought a single let alone an album and never been to a gig. And that's precisely why I'll be there to check them out ! Well, unless there's something that I really *must* see elsewhere anyway. Festivals for me are all about seeing/doing/trying stuff that I wouldn't ever do otherwise. There's absolutely no way I would consider attending a standard Quo gig. Ditto Tom Jones and various others this year. Ditto Jay Z and various others last year. Ditto the lots of small bands in lots of small venues that I stumble across each and every year. The great thing about festivals, particularly Glasto of course, is that if you do turn up and aren't enjoying it then there is absolutely no shortage of other good stuff to wander off and check out to see if you enjoy it more. Much as I wouldn't exactly be complaining if [insert an all-time favourite band here] were playing I certainly would if there were way too many favourites on the bill and way too many decisions needing to be made ! If/when I want to see [insert any favourite band here] then that's what good old fashioned ordinary gigs are for, festivals are, for me anyway, primarily about seeing all the other often very good stuff that I would otherwise miss out on completely simply because "it's not really my thing" or whatever. Anyways .... apart from all that, ya just can't beat a real cheesy sing-a-long-a-with-whoever on well nice and sunny Sunday afternoon can ya Or first thing on a Friday morning either now that I come to think about it as a bit of Abba-esque stuff sounds like a very 'different' way to kick me festi off this year ! I mean there's not a cat in hell's chance that I would even be seen dead and/or within several hundred miles of such a gig at any other time/place that's for bl**dy sure !!!!! philipsteak
Something or other (cant remember which one, dont think it matters, even fans admit they all sound the same) by Status Quo was the first album I ever owned. Got it on cassette for Christmas in the early/mid eighties. There, I've said it. Feels good to confess.
drewsstrat
Tip - get a David St Hubbins wig, you can recycle it the nest day for Rick Parfitt. Just off to search for my air guitar...
Martin Ashford
Have a squint at this clip (no idea where it's from) and just tell me this isn't going to be one of the most entertaining, rabble rousing, feeling bloody great acts of the whole weekend. Four weeks today!!
angelofharlem
I've never been a fan of Status Quo but when I saw them headline at the Bulldog Bash a couple of years ago I was really surprised at how good they were..the bluesy tracks they did such as Roadhouse Blues were fantastic..they really got the crowd going and it was a brilliant atmosphere. The only problem I have with them playing is that they are on really early (something like 1pm), I just hope I am up in time to see them! Edi M
Although never a fan, my brother was so I was forced to listen to every track of every album from a very young age. Looking forward to some full on headbanging in the sunshine. I've always considered Caroline to be my personal theme tune. It's not actually my name, but until someone writes a song about a Carolyn, it'll have to do
