spudnuts
I notice in the guide that arrived with the tickets that any sound system will be confiscated Is this aimed at huge ghetto blasters and the pikey all night dance partys that used to exist years ago? I was planning on taking me Ipod and a speaker for a bit of a party on the Weds/Thurs when theres not much happening, but dont want some security thug taking it. pie_and_a_pint
You won't need a sound system! There's plenty going on, so to be honest, it's not worth packing it - you'll probably end up carrying it in, sticking it in the lockups and carrying it home without using it. Plus, the Fine Guide will also have told you not to take anything you can't afford to lose. iPods are expensive things to replace if they get lost / nicked / waterlogged / broken... spudnuts
I am assuming that you haven't been before because I can assure you that there is plenty happening on the Wednesday/Thursday
Toilet Duck
...Lots of people bring speakers for their iPods...The no soundsystems rule is aimed at much bigger rigs. Having said that, all of the posters above are correct, there's tons going on around the site on wed/thurs (in fact I often think that these are my favourite days of the festival since there's no timetable and "must see" bands, you just get to wander around aimlessly and enjoy whatever you come across)...We usually bring speakers when we take the campervan, to listen to music in the morning as we make breakfast, but we never really have time to use them at night!... sammysundae
yeah. i'm gonna bring a small pair of ipod speakers along to listen to whilst recovering and eating breakfast in the morning. i think anyone who tries to hijack the party at glasto is pretty much gonna fail. but theres nothing wrong with whacking on a few tunes when you can't be arsed to walk to the stages yet. paulo999
Massively better than listening to your own tunes... put Worthy FM on. You'll have a bit of festival vibe at your camp that way. Nice to listen to in the morning, or if you've popped back for a rest. And it's the thing your neighbours are most likely to appreciate too. Although I don't take speakers, I go to sleep to Worthy FM, and wake up to it.
