my train tickets yet :( I've been reluctant to get stuff cos people kept letting me down so I didnt even think I was gonna go.

Now its definite that I'm going and I cant really afford a train ticket right now. £70 is loads. Do people think it'll be impossible for me to get one the day before I go? Which would be tuesday the 23rd.

Is there a risk of train tickets selling out? Probably sounds like a dumb ass question.

Well not too sure how the whole train and Glastonbury thing works but...

last year my friend had a disaster with her transport on the way down (missed the coach basically) so had to find another method to get there. She (or her mum as had no money) booked a train ticket on the Thursday at about 7pm and there were no problems at all with.

Alternatively you could look under the lift share forum bit.

Train tickets never sell out. The train companies are far too greedy for anything like that!

You may benefit getting advance tickets, so have a look at the trainline website. If your tickets £70, you may benefit looking into getting a railcard, as it'll save you some cash, and you can use it for ages after to get a 1/3rd off. You usually make your money back straight away.

Train companies are also too greedy to admit that you don't always get the cheapest fare when you book in advance.

My advice is:

1. As KatiePC says, get a railcard if you can

2. Don't, under any circumstances, travel via London - it's MUCH more expensive

3. Most importantly, see if it's cheaper to split your journey up - e.g. is it better to buy one ticket from Liverpool to Castle Cary, or is it cheaper to buy Liverpool - Birmingham, Birmingham - Reading and Reading - Castle Cary. Sometimes that can save LOADS of money, sometimes it's too much hassle. See http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/travel/cheap-train-tickets
