pezzypops
if it a nice day get a hosepipe on it and use a sweeping brush to give it a scrub. don't use detergents as they'll remove any waterproofing the outer tent has. then put it on the line and let it dry fully before you put it away. morelego
Every year my cats piss on mine when I set it up. During my A Levels, I was mounting some work and they decided that would make a good toilet. Also, my sisters boyfriends cat pooed on his lyrics he had just written. ahah I love cats. ahardbattle
He's only marking his territory You could try 'marking it' yourself? no? Well it'll probably smell of piss on the outside after Glasto anyway! I'm sure some detol or anti-bac cleaner should do the trick! Worst tent disaster I had was to use mine for a very muddy Reading & then fail to clean before the next years Glasto (& forgot the golden rule of checking it before you leave home). There wasn't much of the cotton parts left that hadn't dissolved. Fortunately it was a warm Glasto so the extra ventilation was fine

maninkilt
Sacrificing the cat to the great god Ball is the ONLY way to get rid of the smell
CrispyRed
Thanks for all the advice on cleaning tents. I'm pleased I'm not the only one with a cat that needs to be served and ASBO I couldn't believe the mess it left. It must have the bladder the size of a horse's
Rhyscot
Took our tent camping the other night for a bit of a dry run with the guys, and a bit of ash from the camp fire managed to find its way into the tent and burn a hole just smaller that a 5p through the base of the tent. Will this need some sort of tape going across it or will it be fine just left as it is ?
pie_and_a_pint
I'd put a cross of duct tape over the hole inside and out, and that should keep the moisture out. Or you could fix it with a bike puncture repair kit, maybe?
Rhyscot
Oh yeh, good idea. I'll see if we have a bike puncture kit at home and if not, duck tape it is. Thanks

kinglewi
2 tent disasters for me. My first glasto in 07 i forgot the tent poles so there was no hope in me ressurecting that one had to buy one on site. 2nd one was when i went to V last year. Took my pop up tent to T in the park. worked fine. So didnt bother to check when i went to V a few weeks later, as soon as i open it it snaps in about 8 different places. Only took £35 with me the whole weekend and had to pay £30 for another new tent. To make it worse the shop was all dark and so i couldnt see the colour of the tent i bought. It was actually bright purple. not a good look for a 20 year old boy i can tell you.
r0cky
That's a sod innit? I would get your skates on getting the tent back to the supplier as a lot of places seem to be adamant gear has to be checked by manufacturer regardless of the problem and you ain't got much time left!!
