Which Field to pitch

As three Glasto virgins, we were wondering which field would be best to pitch our tent, looking at the map and arriving from London it looks like we will diverted to gates C or D, a bloody long walk to most field. As we will probably be spending most time at the JP and park i would imagine the Penning or Home ground, but afyer seeing pics of 2005 i'm a bit reluctant! Any clues would be appreciated. :(

I've actually already read this same thing on the Gorge website. It seems to me that if you arrive anytime after lunchtime on Thurday you are pretty much stuffed. We will be leaving London early Thursday am at about 9am. Hopefully its not all full up when we get there! :(

I was a newbie last year and camped in the first spot we found which was within a decent walking distance to a lockup. We discovered we were half way between the longdrops and the lockup. The lockup we were nearest was the one by the first aid tent. So we were in park home ground i think. It was great coz we were near enough the longdrops to use them within seconds but far enough to not smell the stench. The lockups were a godsend too. There was about a three minute walk to the other stage and dance fields. A very good place, think im going back there this year.
