Are Mates Reliable?

Not about contraception all those of you with filthy minds! I've been reading the threads about the Park Stage and who might play the unknown gig, and of course one is "My mate says it's Muse". As tylerdurden pointed out on that thread, these rumours seem to usually come true, especially if your mate is Neil. Anyway I thought it would be good to test out this "My mate says" concept with a thread to pull them together with results.

So have people got examples recently from this board of where a mate predicted something and it came true or didn't?

Rocking up at the Park having been told Tenacious D were going to be there only to find some band called MGMT were playing was a disappointment. More disappointing now cos I really didnt rate them back then and walked off...bugger bugger bugger!

Yeh my Mrs promised me Courteeners were playing cos she knows one of Liam's school friends who told her. Turns out they actually turned Glasto down in favour of playing T in the park (more cash I guess)!! So turns out women are unreliable (who'd have though that!)
