Indeed

Why would anyone want to be trapped in a box, with the sun beating down (due to the stunning weather we will see in 09) and the smells wofting all around you ;)

look this was a suggestion for those that throw up or gag while in longdrops etc. No one has to buy one just trying to help others who may not be as comfortable as some pissing and shitting in the portaloos etc. I personally dont mind but if there is something that will make my life and that of my woman easier then i take it. I also have a solar shower too not that it ever gets that hot, but it keeps us clean and smelling nice. Just to let you know i've been going to Glasto,Reading,V and numerous other Fests for 15years I know how some suffer with the cleanliness etc and i wanted to help. Oh for got to mention we use eco friendly soap while showering at Festivals.

I think the toilets are usually ok for the first day or so, after that if you're sensitive you can 'time' your visit to go after they've been cleaned by the shitsuckers. Much better than having it lurking in a box in a hot tent, that can't be good for you.

oh and if the weathers as nice as it is today, the people who help clean out the portaloos will have easy access to them, therefore enabling them to be cleaned often*.

Im guessing when its rained alot, or even a little, its hard for those guys to get to them.

After going to Leeds Fest for a few years and facing the horrible stench and condition of the turdis' they have there I was dreading the ones at Glasto so for several days before and then during the festival I took large amounts of Immodium to make sure I didn't poop during the festival. I managed not to go and I was still blocked up until the Wednesday or Thursday and by that point I was in total agony but I just couldn't go. I'm never going near immodium again!

I was really suprised at how good the long drops were compared to Leeds and I'm now perfectly happy to poop at Glastonbury and part of me is hoping I'll be able to enjoy and nice long poop looking at the stars!

Last time I commented on a thread about these 'gadgets' I was called a shitface and told to f-off. However, I shall comment again. Shitting in a bag in a cardboard box in your tent is gross, it's yet more rubbish to be thrown away and it's completely pointless when there are hundred and thousands of perfectly good toilet facilities on site, regularly cleaned. Small children manage to use the toilets OK on their own, so grown men and women should just bloody well get on with it and grow up a bit.

Rant over...

As I have the luxury of being able to leave the festival each night to go home and use the facilities I don't really have the right to comment. But I will ...

If I was staying over and needed to use the loos - I actually think the shit box is quite a good invention. I wonder if it was ever presented on Dragon's Den?!

I am also a fan of the She Pee - which I shall be using as often as necessary!!

I think its irresponsible selling this - I doubt anyone will poo in a bag then walk across site to the longdrops and spend time in a queue just to throw it down, they'll end up just throwing it in a bin. As the bins get full quickly the bags will end up piled next to the bins. Obviously a health hazard to everyone at the festival, especially as there are bound to be tears and leakage. Not to mention the poor people who end up cleaning up these bags of shit at the end of the week.
