Cinema tent in Acoustic field !?!?!? This seems wrong

In other words - that field isn't huge - you can hear the acoustic bands/solo artists all the way down to the Red Flag bar and the (defunct) Common Ground location - so will a cinema tent be an intrusion - both for space and sound reasons.

When its a nice day (and it will be nice ) that field fills up - like a mini Jazzworld, with everyone enjoying the real ale and the rootsy, acoustic music.

How does a whomping great tent, with cartoons/space battles/bollywood and horror belting out in any way add to this location ??

It will need to be tucked right down in the South East corner of the field not to be right in the way - would have been better in the adjacent circus/fire/caberet area somewhere, imo. Or better still - where it was before.

, depends how far away they are from each other I suppose but it could be another other stage/queens head scenario and be really annoyning in the cross over of the sound! Need to wait and see I guess!! :O

the field is simply too small for crossover not to occur - unless they move the acoustic stage up the hill a bit - there is a big backstage area there - and put the cinema tent right at the bottom. Maybe that will work..

It just seems a shame as that is always a very laid back, chilled out area when its even half decent weather......and in such a huge place, why stick a (loud) cinema next to smaller stage where performers are often solo, with acoustic guitars..................we will see.

On particularly wet years the ground around the acoustic field is one of the last to turn to shite. I agree with you mate, this is a useless idea for the cinema. I think theyre going to have to have each of the stages facing each other aswell... otherwise people will be looking uphill at the cinema screen.

Brutal idea.

Will still be noisy, and take up loads of space.....also might make the whole area v busy - particularly as Leftfield is replaced with Quenns head AND a Sony tent (!) just round the corner...

Odd decision - but the whole site evolves each year, so maybe it will be fine.

I think it will be fine.

I'm sure the organisers will have already thought of all the potential problems we've listed and it will be a good move. I always found it a real hike to the cinema since it moved up to it's previous location in the mid-nineties.

Can't remember the last time ME and gang changed something for the worse, can you?!:lol::lol:
