Guest
This year will be my fifth Glastonbury but I've never successfully found somewhere I can go and have a drink after main stages finish apart from Lost Vagueness/Shangri-La which are always a chore - they're a long way and far too crowded to be able to enjoy yourself fully (without the help of substances which aren't my cup of tea). Also Queen's Head gets too rammed but I might try that this year. Other areas? I realise you might not want to reveal your secret haunts but any suggestions would be gratefully received. Ta. Homer
A lot of my friends seem to favour the wine bar experience...
Mr Ploppy
Alot of places are chokka late on Tom but you will find somewhere - I always do. But be sure to take a tipple of your own in a little plastic bottle just in case the only thing for sale is Earl Grey Tea. ;-) MrPloppy
r0cky
Wine bar? I'm not sure I'm even aware of the wine bar? Oh, is it at/near trash city? We tried the gin palace last year but it was either closed or too full to get in, can't remember which.
BlackHole2006
Anyone tried the greenfeilds at night? What's it like, or does it shut at a certain time?

remote
Always fun having a dance outside a Wine Bar for a bit. After that I usually just wander around with a bottle of my own alcohol and see where I end up.

LusciousLucy
Never found the late night party areas to be that busy tbh. Yes the forced trek, sheep like to the far entrance in the east for Shangri La is a mish but once you are in, you wonder where the hell did everyone go! Lots of places in the Dance Village are open til the very wee hours even on Sunday into Monday. Stagger, stumble and bimble...never mish...and you will find what you are looking for...or should I rephrase that it will find you!

LEDZEP66
I just normally wander around and see where I end up, like you said its hard to find drink though. Best thing to do is take a hip flask with your choice of spirits, I'm a JD myself and buy soft drinks on the way. Theres always ice cream vans selling bottles of coke for a couple of quid - and allcazam - JD and coke to keep you going all night
Glazieyes
Yeah, you're probably right. Never tried Greenfields - can't get a drink there anyway I don't think. Plenty of other things I reckon though, if you're that way inclined. Edited June 2, 2009 by Glazieyes

sunnyshoes
Was that the place off the old railway track up toward Shangri-la? If it's the same place I'm thinking of, there was just a small gap along the path, then down some steps and the place opened out. There was a bar, dj, dancing. All completely enclosed by surrounding trees. That was an awesome find. We thinking of the same place?

Abbathehorse
I can't remember where on earth it was - as far as I remember though it was in a tent not out in the open but it could well have changed since then! Ill keep a look out for it this year as I'm sure it had a name - something beginning with M.
The Dawg
That sounds like the Glade?
Abbathehorse
No The Glade is miles from this place. Anyhow I have totally forgotten what it's called but as you pass Trash City on your Left and walk towards Shangri-la look down through the trees on your left hand side and eventualy you will see it. There are steep step down to it. A top drinking hole if ever there was one. The bar is about 6 foot tall but the place has a great vibe with a large outdoor fire and decent tunes on. Oh and don't tell anyone about it.
