Fairground rides

No they dont.

Unless you count one small ferris wheel and the monorail.

Glastonbury is very different to Leeds...in a good way. Much much less commercial which includes getting ripped off by fairground folk charging £5 for a go on the waltzers.

Not proper ones like those at beer festivals. I remember going to Oxegen (in Ireland - sister festival of T in the Park) in 96 and the rides were, appropriately, next to the chavvy music area. People were coming out of there with eyes like satellite dishes, walking like zombies towards the flashing lights, whereupon they'd mount said attraction and feel like they were in space.

There was definitely what we used to know at as as kids as the 'rib tickler' there last year. Its like a hexagonal box that you get into and they spin it round and round. You are sitting down on benches inside and as the box spins you think you are spinning with it when you are not. Its like an optical illusion. Great fun!

thats the mystic swing..

highly recommended to anyone who hasnt been on it before :P

that ferris wheel is one of the most petrifying things i have ever been on.. big woodn handle to stop it going round and when they do pull it the thing comes to a creaky juttery stop which makes your wee seat swing backwards and forwards
