So has no-one else entered the Spot The Bull competition knowing they already have tickets...I know I have.

And if I won?

I'd probably go down the eBay route...whilst I would love to sell them at face value, I would have got them by chance not by a purposeful attempt to buy them with the intention of touting and I'm afraid at the moment the pound notes count for more than the eternal damnation I would receive.

We don't know the whole story behind the tickets, so why assume?

Mealy mouthed nonsense. You've even said you dont need a ticket so you'll tout it if you win. You;ve made a very purposeful attempt to win a ticket you dont need so you can put it on e bay. Yeah well I hope you win the ticket, sell it on e bay and then lose your own. Then you can join all those other people not going to Glasto cos they didnt win the ticket cos you're selfish and just interested in your own coin.

This sorta shit could happen more often so it needs to be nipped in the bud pronto :D !!!!

In my (humble) opinion that's exactly what it means.

I don't like touts any more than others, but selling on a ticket won in a competition is a world away from using multiple cards to acquire as many tickets as possible with the express intention of reaping silly profits.

Maybe the person selling is a cynical tout, or maybe the entered the competition in good faith and are just selling for a whole host of reasons.

Personally I think it's about the persons intent at the outset.

Surely the ebay seller has mates he could have given them to...that would be much nicer.

Honourable certainly, but not righteous. What you have said is 'It is more important that I win this competition to win a Glastonbury ticket because i want to make some money off it than it is for someone who doesn't have a ticket who is desperate to go'. Tell me how that's a good, pleasant or helpful attitude? You know it's not, it's c*ntish behaviour.

the point here is competition's like spot the bull are open to everyone, whether you have a ticket or not. anyone can enter it and win, regardless. i see no harm in someone with a ticket entering a competition they are entitled to. if they win and they already have a ticket, more power to them! they won, and they can do as they please with their prize

I don't enter the competition primarily to win a ticket, I do it because it is good fun. I just said what I would do if I won the ticket.

But in the unlikely event that I do win, I'm going to give Rhyscot one of the tickets if he hasn't managed to get one by then. As for the other one, I'll probably be a c*nt, sorry!

So if a tout only bought two tickets to sell on that would be ok? Why does it matter where the ticket came from if you sell it reaping silly profits? What you are saying is that it is ok to sell a ticket for a silly profit as long as that wasn't your original intention. To the person who either misses out or has to pay a vastly inflated price, the original intention counts for f*ck all!
