No MGMT and NO Empire of the Sun

hi all,

was shocked and gutted no to see MGMT and Empire of the Sun.

surely these top top bands should play glasto..

why NO bookings by emily and Mr Evis!! I think they missed a trick there..

especially empire of the sun.. one of the bands of 2009

must say headliners are a bit sh*t was hoping for daft punk but we can dream eh!

at least the dance village (world) looks brilliant, so many stages, may turn into a 4day rave!

I know that they tried to book EOTS, and EOTS thought it was going to happen for a while, but then decided that they weren't ready to play live. So you can't blame Glastonbury for that!

mgmt at the park stage last year were immense...they were a bit of a let down in the JP...but honestly the park set was tremendous

MGMT played twice last year. This year they're big news so they've gone for a payday from one of the other festivals. Make hay while the sun shines. I don't mind - exactly like the Klaxons imo - great singles, bland album awful live (although I should caveat that at least MGMT can play their instruments, they're just boring)

I don't think EOTS play live

Posted this in another thread earlier re EOTS. Rob da bank(Bestival/Sunday Best) says he tried to book them this year as they are one of his favourites at the mo but was told they would not be touring europe till next year! :angry:

it's 100% right .... I had info passed to me that they were playing, that came from a definitive contact at the EOTS end .... then when I happened to see Emily, I tried to get out of her which stage they'd be on, only to be told they weren't playing (and she even went and double-checked with some other peeps, just to be sure it wasn't something she wasn't aware of) .... she told me what she was told by the band's people, that they weren't ready to play live.

I tried to listen to the EOTS album on spotify yesterday, but had to give up after a few tracks. It was awful.

I'm disappointed re EOTS. Before the line-up was announced, whenever I heard We Are The People, I imagined myself watching them play it at Glasto, twirling round like a loon, a little light-headed from my trips to the Cider Bus, with a gorgeous sunset in the backgroud. I even texted my bf to say that's what what was in my mind's eye

P.S. Yes - I am sure he thinks I am slightly flaky too
