Photos on tickets...

A friend who can no longer go to Glastonbury this year due to last minute work has offered her ticket to another friend and we wanted to get opinions on the likelyhood of getting her in on the ticket when the photo doesn't match. They're both female and blonde and she's is so desperate to go.

From what I remember the photos weren't that detailed last year, but we don't want to break the rules particularly. I know some of the gate staff knock around on the forums so wanted to get an official opinion. (feel free to PM me if you'd prefer not to voice your thoughts to the public) It seems crazy it's not possible to get the change approved by glasto and such a shame that the ticket will go to waste.

Cheers

look out..i'm working the gates you know..i'll be checkin those tickets!! <_< they're pretty strict about it and they seem to be getting more strict each year. hopefully your friend will get lucky.

like if they found out i (for example) put someone through who was different to the person on the ticket i would be escorted off the grounds and so would the ticket holder.

i just hope you don't come across me on the gates :D i'd have to report it. sorry *dont be a hater! i'm just doin my job*

They dont ask for additional ID.. and i can assure you the stewards are not strict. A few of my friends are working there this year, they also worked last year.. They are 18/19 honistly, they don't give a shit who comes in!.. My friend who worked last year helped people get over the fence, not that i agree with this, i'm just saying what happened. <_<

I guess the best thing to do would be to turn up when it's pretty busy and they don't have as much time to be AS thorough about checking. It could be a very long, disappointing and difficult journey home if your friend doesn't get in.

We're really tempted to try it but it would be such a nightmare if everyone but her got in. Would we abandon her at the gate in tears and wave goodbye, or leave no man behind? Maybe a crisp £5 note tucked under the ticket when going through would help? (only kidding, it would have a 20 at least)

Would the friend who's ticket it is be willing to lend another piece of ID? The pictures are small and pretty unclear, (I look very different to how I did then, and I look black in it which is weird because I'm not) but I think it's just luck whether you get a very casual steward or one who sticks closer to the rules. If you do go for it, make sure you do similar things with the hair, and try to cover up any distinguishing features (eg. moles) this does actually work! The photo could potentially be from 2007 (I think?) so a person could change quite a bit. My friend uses her sister's ID for going out, and they don't look that alike, but she had dreads, so it looks like they made her face look different... if you see what I mean!

i bought a ticket from ebay last year on the cheap and despite this lad looking like an escapee from mental ward in clatterbridge hospital i still managed to get in. I wore a cap and basically every time i had to show my ticket on the way in i accidentally on purpose dropped some bags after putting my ticket down. I was carrying alot of bags too so by the time i picked them up they were lookin at someone else's ticket. If i remember correctly I only showed my ticket twice anyway. If i had to do it again I would definitely chance it. Its Glastonbury go for it.

Good Luck

I'm thinking I could cause some kind of diversion just as she's going in, maybe feign an epileptic fit, strip down naked but for my wellies or cause a small explosion, maybe that will buy her enough time to slip in. Obviously I then run the risk of being incarcerated, damn why didn't I think this through? I need the A-Team for a plan
