Wet Weather Clothing

I wear hiking boots and gaiters, if its wet I take a cycling poncho which rolls up easily, is easy to put on, and is light to carry betwen showers, covers up everything to below the knee including backpack, and has gaps to put your hands thru and is not too hot as plenty of air gets in. I have been dry thru many wet festies but this year expect it to stay packed u!!

depending on the weather obviously ( its's gonna be a scorcher ), but if the weather turns really shitty try an army surplus shop, can't find the link but it was on efests somewhere and they had ex army issue goretex coats for about 25 - 40 quid ,real bargains to be had on it . ;)

I got a charming (ha) all in one blue waterproof suit in 2007. I had a brilliant waterproof anorak that packs down into a small bag but it wasn't enough, and I was feeling rather miserable in all that rain. I got it on site for about 15 quid. Personally, if it should turn (which it won't, because its going to be gorgeous all week, fact) I'll just buy something like that again when I'm there. It was from Oxfam I think.

I find a good quality poncho takes some beating, I agree the cheap ones are crap, I got drenched in 07 when my cheap poncho decide to rip in half when I was no where near any shelter.

I find that shorts are the best thing to stop clothing getting wet. Its normally warm enough to wear them so you wont have the problem of getting the bottom of your pants wet.

I agree about the poncho. Invest in a good one which is still far cheaper than a set of coat and trousers. You can put it over a rucksack if you're carrying one and if you sit down you can tuck it under you AND it covers all your legs. and its easier to store. Decathlon do really good ones at around £20.

Oh and a collapasable umbrella is a godsend for any total monsoons. BUT don't dare put it up when watching a band. I've got in a few scuffles from selfish people. If youre clothing is waterproof enough you can cope with a wet head for half an hour so everyone can enjoy the acts.

I'm taking 2 pairs of crocks this year as well as walking boots. They're waterproof, comfortable and they just wash off later. They just won't cope with the really deep mud...which there wont be any of!!!!

Lastly. I got really peed off with my face getting plastered with rain during the 2 bad years 2005 and 2007 so i bought a good waterproof cowboy style hat. it just gives you complete protection from both rain and when the sun starts to burn... as it will do this year.

Crocks/walking boots

shorts

poncho

cowboy hat

theyre all lightweight

and optional fancy dress!!!! (me thinks Zapp Brannigan from Futurama)

I got my cycling poncho from Lidl's. It covers everything down to my gaiters including backpack and has survived since 2004. It's very comfortable to wear, has 2 little hand holes in the front so is easy to hold food, drink etc without getting wet, wouldn't go without it but expect it to stay packed this year!!

Finally found it, this is the one i bought last year after my cheapo one ripped in 07. It is very big (so am I, although I am not as big as Joshwarrr!), it is fairly heavy duty but not too heavy (about 1lb in old money) and will fold up pretty small.
