campfires and firewood

i saw a post on here recently saying that at last years glasto there were stewards walking around some camping fields putting out campfires, which seems a bit odd as i thought firewood was actually made available to people who want it? does this actually happen, and what are the official "rules" about having campfires?

also, did i read correctly that firewood is piled up somewhere for people to take as they please? where abouts would we find this?

cheers all, not long now.

if your campfire gets too big or looks like it might get out of control the stewards will ask you to let it die down a bit, if you don't do this they'll put it out.

firewood is available in huge piles around the site but its usually all gone by wednesday evening.

If you are burning wood and have an average fire that is well under control and being watched then you will be fine.

But if you are shoving all kinds on the fire to keep it going, or it is too ig then expect for it to be put out which is fair enough.

The 'wood stalls' are knocking about, just keep an eye open. Can usually get a bag of logs or a bag of smaller pieces for kindling for about a £5. Not a bad deal at all really as a warm fire at midnight is just bliss.
