Nick May
How did a mandolin make the cut and not a ukulele?! Racist.
ig1234
If I can get a better mandolin I might... otherwise I'd be a bit crap! Be easier than taking my guitar...
Nick May
I have the same story as you. My band were goign to play as well and we have had the exact same issue. We were told by the promoter that they would be able to get tickets for our drummer and bassist and have now told us that they cant. It really sad as were on the bill but cant play. windy_miller
Hi Linda Yes the Tadpole Stage is indeed solar powered. In fact the whole of the Green Futures field is completely without mains or generators at all. Even more quirky - The Mandala stage (where we're playing on Sat and Sun), is in fact pedal powered ! The audience have to keep pedalling special bikes - adapted to generate enough power to run the onstage sound system and all the various bands gear onstage. So if the volunteers from the audience who're are pedalling at the time get tired and start to flag, then the power starts to go down.... and... . This has led to some amusing scenarios in the past, as you might imagine and gives a whole new meaning to the term audience participation. So if any of the other folks who've nobly volunteered instruments which unfortunately might not quite fit the bill (such as shaker eggs, triangle , one string banjo, spoons and - my personal favourite... "the wooden owl" , still want to be involved in the show , then perhaps you might consider playing the bicycle instead and do your bit for green alternative energy generation while knowing it's your feet that are really making the music happen. . Simultaneously you could of course still be playing shaker eggs, triangle etc etc of course - as these generator bikes are hands free in operation. Anyway Linda We would be delighted to give you a suitably quirky welcome to the Tadpole stage on 6-00 pm on Friday or The Mandala Stage at 6-00 pm Saturday or Sunday. So yes please do come along and holler "get on with it" or whatever. Hope to see you there.
